Hi there, I'm Quinn! 40, F, Pennsylvania. Combating a lifelong food addiction mindfully and one day at a time! Always happy to have open-minded people on the journey with me. Morbidly obese from ages 4-37. Began health and fitness journey in July 2017 at 282 lbs. and size 24/26. I was sedentary and walked with a cane due to weakness. Suffered from Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension.

Minimum goal weight (175) and size (10/12) met in September 2018. Now concentrating on losing excess fat, building muscle, improving cardiorespiratory health, and bettering balance, flexibility, stability, and mobility. Diabetes: GONE Hypertension: GONE

Update 7/2020: I put on wonderful muscle during the first half of 2020, but it's not very visible because I'm still carrying some unnecessary, unwanted fat. I'm planning on a slow weight cut, taking it 5 pounds at a time, to see what happens and find where I am happy. I have a fair amount of extra skin, and I don't want to lose any muscle, so I will have to pay close attention to my body and adjust as needed.

The work never ends, but often changes!

Exercise: Resistance Training, Endurance Walking, Yoga, Pilates, and HIIT are my main and favored fitness activities. I like trying new workouts and activities. Keep the muscles guessing!

Eating Habits: Based upon CICO and science-based evidence. No trendy diets, schemes, plans, or expensive products. Lots of lean protein, moderate fats and good carbs, plus limited sugars. I strive to have a healthy, nutritious, well-rounded eating plan that works for my individual needs. Reasonable treats on occasion for sanity purposes.

Why I want to get in shape

1) Become a more physically and mentally healthy adult.

2) Get my body to the shape and size it was always meant to be by respecting my frame and musculature.

3) Maintain my success for years to come by continuing to live a life full of beneficial fitness and healthy eating.
