3/1/17 Update: Figured I should update since it's been a year since that was posted. I am 41 now and have been lifting consistently for a year and lost 23 lbs. That isn't much, but considering I haven't changed my eating or done much cardio, that's pretty decent I guess. I can say I have lost 23 lbs, but gained so much more. I have gained confidence, a stronger mindset, and the realization I'm so much more than just a number on the scale. I am a fighter and tough! So, here's to hopefully reaching my goals this year and in the process learning to love myself even more, flaws and all.
2016: I just turned 40 and I'm trying to embrace it. I'm married with a ten year old son. I work full time and also attend college part time for my BA in Health Services Administration.

I hired a personal trainer and started lifting at the end of January because I had thought about it long enough and it was time to take action. I love the changes I'm making not only physically, but also mentally. Not only am I gaining strength, I'm gaining confidence.

Why I want to get in shape

So my outside will match the hot 20 year old I feel like on the inside
To be a good example of health for my son
For improved self confidence
To prove to myself I can
(I guess I can add Spite here now

My Inspirations

  • To be healthier and see my body's potential
  • The person who told me I wouldn't do it
  • Myself, because when I put my mind to something I want to finish it
