Tell Me Something About You!

 

You are a terrific gang of readers. I am off for the weekend, and I thought it would be fun to come home to a bunch of new information about my MFP friends. I have a few questions that I would love for you to answer in the comments! I'll go first.

 -1 How long have you been losing this time around? Since February 2011.

-2  What is your favorite part of losing weight? I am liking the feeling of healthiness the best. But the smaller clothes are a real reward.

-3 What was your start weight, and what is your goal weight? 276 to 195. 

-4 What is the most important thing you do to make sure you stay on track? LOG IT!

-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? Play guitar, spend time with my family, and travel!

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? I like California!

-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? I am from New Haven, CT, and live in Boston, MA via Portland, ME, Towhshend, VT, Rindge, NH, and Cape Cod. MA.

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I was a missionary in Brazil and Norway - and yes, I have actually preached in church and it didn't fall down. :)

1. I have been on MFP since may 2011
2. My favorite part of losing weight is that my body looks better, but that high you get when you see the smaller number on the scale is a close second.
3. My start weight was 132. I am 126 now. Goal weight is 112.
4. Excercise- I know I will stay on track if I work out, if I don't, I will fall off the wagon entirely
5. I LOVE riding my horses, traveling, skiing, and doing absolutely NOTHING!
6. I would love to live in North Carolina (I am from there, but we moved when I was a kid) or San Diego
7. I was asked to live at the Olympic training center 3 times for 3 different sports but turned it down to go to Harvard

Hi, nice blog, I'm looking forward to reading all the responses too!!

1) I've been doing this since 12/2011 this time, but in 2007 I lost 125 lbs. What did I learn on my first go around--stay focused. I blinked (because I met a man) and someone puffed me back up. Seemed to happen over night. He's gone, but I've found 100 lbs. :(

2) I too loved buying new clothes. But the best thing is the spring in my step and the fact that with each pound that falls off, my confidence goes up.

3) My start weight was 347.5. I'm currently 311.5 and my goal weight is about 170-180. (I'm 5'9" and more of an atheletic build. I will never be petite)

4) ENJOY IT. I do things that I mostly enjoy and hang out with folks that are positive and uplifting here at MFP. I enjoy exercise, and I have always played organized sports. I've started using the tools such as "logging" because I'm starting to realize their true value to me.

5) I play co-ed quads sand volleyball 2 nights a week, I play Euchre. I spend time with my border collie and black lab. I cherish time with my granddaughter, Amberlee

6) I love Cincinnati. I don't want to live anywhere else, but I'd love to visit the New England states.

7) I played on a co-ed softball team that placed 5th in the world back in the early 90's. I've always loved organized sports.

Thanks for the "interactive" blog. I'm going to enjoy getting to know you and everyone else. Your blogs are always the best!!!

My favorite part is that I am doing something new, something I never have done before.

I began at 200, cant believe it. My goal is 140, which I have been since 30.

I eat healthy, and I am beginning to exercise.

I LOVE traveling, haven't done it in a while, seeing a play in Manhattan, or just visiting NYC, where I live.

I would LOVE to live in Cali.

I did some modeling for exercise wear in my 30's.

Bible study, Reading, crafts, being a mom, work :/, church activities

Every state and country has pluses and minuses, but I loved living in California and would probably be my first choice, either Ventura county or Marin County
-7 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share?
I wish when I was young they had talked about careers in things like forensic science, demolitions or top fuel dragsters!!!!!!

1. Been losing weight this time around since June 2011

2. My favorite part of losing weight is not feeling bloated and my gut is not in the way of everything.

3. My starting weight was 382. My target weight is 230 (about 85 lbs to go). I may have a difficult time reaching my target weight. I just found out that my lean body weight is 215 lbs. If I put on some muscle during this journey, I will need to concentrate on a healthy fat percentage instead of a target weight.

4. Logging everything (food and exercise) has been the most important thing I do to stay on track.

5. I spend a lot of time working in the tech area of my local church. I also spend time with friends and family and watch way to much TV.

6. I like California and Texas. Unfortunately, my wife is a Florida girl and we will probably end up there after we retire.

7. I played college basketball for Liberty Baptist College (now Liberty University) for 2 years. I then gave them the scholarship back and became one of the singers in a college group. I took a year off from school and we performed over 300 concerts in 43 states, living on a bus. We even cut an album (it wasn't very good). My junior year, I sang with the group that traveled with Jerry Falwell and sang on national TV every week.

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? I don't look very good now. I want to not cringe when I see photos of myself, and fit into my closet of gorgeous clothes.

-4 What is the most important thing you do to make sure you stay on track? Not let myself have a cheat day. I find that that turns into two. I need to be consistent.

-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? Spend time with my kids, write, quilt.

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? On the coast of Ireland.

-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? I live in Gettysburg Pa., but was from Williamsport, Pa (via Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Harrisburg)

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I'm a published author, with my second book due to the publisher in July. :-)

-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? Play scrabble & Tetris, Read news concerning Earth Science (my fav topic to read about, other than Finance or Business), play w/my birdies, & hang out w/my friends & family.


-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? Spain, Italy, Dubai, or right where I am :)


-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? Born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. Just a few steps away from Washington, DC (where I work).


-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I spent my childhood summers going w/my dad to his job: he was a part-time (Italian) chef at that time, and also worked as a custodian in a Middle School. :-)

Good Morning!

1. November 2011 is when I rejoined this thing. :) The losing part, maybe this last week!! I'm still the same weight, I fluctuate!

2. Looking fabulous naked. LOL

3. Starting: 179.8, Goal: 145-150

4. What you said. Log it all - exercise, food and even alcohol when it happens!

5. Favorite non-physical activities: Painting, sketching, reading, video games, repurposing items in my home (crafting), knitting and crochet (beginner), and thrift store/vintage shopping. Favorite physical activities: yoga, distance cycling.

6. I'd love to live in Portland or Seattle some day!

7. I currently live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been here since I graduated high school in 2003. I'm from Los Angeles, born and raised but moved here for a change of pace and I'm so glad I did!!

8. Random Fact: I still skateboard for fun these days (in the summertime). I have a Sector 9 longboard that I've had since 2001 (I have a pic of my awesomeness in my profile photos). It was my main mode of transportation when I lived in California. I'd skate to school, the coffee shop, everywhere. Now I just cruise around my neighborhood and keep it stored in my Jeep.

Starting (this time around), 208, goal 155 and then will re-evaluate

spending time doing: reading, knitting, too much TV,

where to live: Love Michigan, want to be closer to the big lake (Michigan)..maybe Grand Haven or Spring Lake. Want to visit Scotland.

Current: Grand Rapids Michigan, from Manistee Michigan, spent a few months in Mound Minnesota before marriage, a few years in Detroit (ugh)

Random fact: former member of the Saltana Dancers, a belly dancing troup, and was a rower for several years until the leg and hip surgeries put a stop to that. :(

This may be a little weird...I never owned a piece of new furniture until a year ago, I always had items given to me or purchased them at yard sales and would refinish, or faux finish...even made a coffee table out of a very big old framed mirror. I kind of miss doing that. I referred to my style as "eclectic junkyard" lol.

1.I have been logging food MFP since Oct. 2011...actually started getting my butt in gear in Dec.

2.Being able to start a family. Feeling comfortable in my own skin.

3.Starting: 306. Goal: Somewhere between 150-130. Whatever feels right... I dont know now b/c I've never been that small!

4. Log EVERYTHING, even the bad days. Keeping friends around that are supportive helps too.

5. Reading, movie-going, cooking, spending time with family/boyfriend/pets.

6. Back to the PNW (Washington State/Oregon/Northern California) or somewhere in the UK/Ireland or maybe New Zealand!

7. I live in Phoenix, AZ via Bellingham, Washington; Muncie, IN; Logansport, IN

8. I'm the only person on both sides of my family with natural red hair.

2) A lot of stomach issues I was having went . I sleep better. I feel better. The new clothes isn't bad either ;)
3) starting weight was 194 but at my worst I was 199 not including pregnancy weight. Goal is 132, but may be adjusted depending on how it looks on my small frame.
4)exercise every chance I get! Haryd to fit in sometimes with a toddler. I mean, if you exclude chasing him. Lol
5) I love hiking and photography and watching my son grow :)
6) easy... Hands down, Isle Of Palms/ Charleston, SC. Outer Banks, NC is a very close second.
7) just the same place I've always lived. Conover, NC
8) I'm very random. Not that I mean to be. Usually it means something you said reminded me of something that's unrelated to our conversation. Lol

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? Feeling much more energy to play with my kiddos and the feeling of confidence I am getting back. That and the smaller clothes really help :)

-3 What was your start weight, and what is your goal weight? 251 and goal is 150 or 140 whichever my body likes better.

-4 What is the most important thing you do to make sure you stay on track? Exercise!!! I can eat perfect and still not lose anything. I have to keep my butt moving.


-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? Scrapbooking, getting back into hiking, singing and photography

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? Colorado, but would love to visit Ireland and Scotland.


-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? Currently live just outside St. Louis MO. Am from MO
several cities around St. Louis.

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I used to be a youth minister and went to the 2000 World Youth Day in Italy and got to see Pope John Paul... Was amazing experience (except for the plane trip) :)

-1 How long have you been losing this time around? I've been committed to losing since late March 2011 but have only been on MFP since May

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? The confidence I've found in myself. I feel sexy and desirable again.

-3 What was your start weight, and what is your goal weight? I started at 215, 205 on MFP, and my goal is more how I feel and look. My assessment goal weight is 145, the top end of a healthy weight for my height. If I reach something I'm happy with before than, I'll be okay with that too!

-4 What is the most important thing you do to make sure you stay on track? I think about how happy I feel when I see a loss on the scale Friday mornings.

-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? I absolutely LOVE to read and I'm a big sports fan. I'm looking forward to being active with my kids this summer!

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? I think Australia would be fun!

-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? I currently live in Winnipeg, Manitoba but am originally from Vancouver, British Columbia.

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I would rather give up my car than my Blackberry (soon to be iPhone). I know, I'm lame...

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I was friends with John Denver, and through him I worked with Harry Chapin on the World Hunger Coalition way back in 1978.

1 - been losing since Jan 11, started MFP May 11

2 - The fact that I don't feel that people look at me like I'm a complete freak now. Also that I fit in the bath properly!

3 - Started around 330lbs (possibly higher?), goal to get to 150lbs and see how I feel.

4 - Theres no one thing, I just feel for some reason that this time I'm going to win. I guess MFP plays a big part tho.

5 - I love to read, I got a kindle last year, and we are never very far apart. I am also a big (english) football fan.

6 - I quite fancy New Zealand or Australia although I've never been. More realistically, the english south coast would be good.

7 - I have always lived in and around London

8 - I am an (inactive) member of Mensa.

5) I love kayaking and canoeing...too bad it's hard water season. I also like to play with my two Golden Retrievers and read books.

8) I can form my tounge into three loops to make it look sort of like a "W" with and extra valley tacked on.

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? Things like being able to run three miles, small personal victories, compliments from people, and smaller clothes.

-7 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I grew up in a religious cult from 3rd grade to 8th grade.

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? I love not feeling like a stuffed sausage. I haven't lost much yet, but back in 2011 I lost 28 pounds and I felt great! I also like to talk about what I am doing to lose the weight and how far I've come. I enjoy the feedback I get from people.

-3 What was your start weight, and what is your goal weight? 187 to 125.

-4 What is the most important thing you do to make sure you stay on track? Logging EVERYTHING is so important. I like to plan out my day in the morning so I know what I can have to eat and how much room the exercise gives me!

-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? Spend time with my family.

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? Not sure-I have only been to a few places. I will end up retiring on beautiful Lake Gogebic in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan!

-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? I am from Milwaukee,WI and I love in Brown Deer, WI (it is a suburb of Milwaukee)

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I am not a very interesting person. I am low key,plain,cautious.

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? My husband will quit smoking when I lose 4 more pounds.

-3 What was your start weight, and what is your goal weight? 170 to 130.

-4 What is the most important thing you do to make sure you stay on track? LOG IT!

-5 Other than obsessing about losing weight, health and fitness, what are a couple of other things you spend time doing? Becoming more self-sufficient on our small acreage--gardening, chickens, and working to add milk/meat goats and meat rabbits.

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? I like the weather and scenery in Hawaii and Jamaica, but I think I'm better off staying in Texas.

-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? I lived on a TX farm my first 15 years, then Houston, TX, MS, VA, back to TX, Germany, FL, OH, Korea, San Antonio, TX, and finally back to the TX farm.

-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I like to sing, and I'm the song leader for my church.

-2 What is your favorite part of losing weight? Feeling good. My back doesn't hurt, my knees are hurting less, my BP is completely normal now (no meds needed), I don't trip over the baby gates anymore, and I can throw my son in the air without being scared we'll both fall over.

-6 If you could live anywhere, where would that be? It would have to be Hawaii. My husband was born and raised in Hawaii and he misses it dearly.
-7 Where do you live now, and where are you from? I was born and raised in Chicago, lived in Columbus, OH for 1 year, then moved to Chattanooga, TN for 4 years, quit my job (missed my family too much), and moved back to Chicago where we live now.
-8 What is a random fact about you, that you want to share? I got the perfect family in a matter of months. I met my husband in Feb 09', started dating in May 09', got married in July 09', and our son was born in Feb 10'. We're perfect for each other. :-)

1. Well nothing yet--just started MFP this week. Already feel slimmer and better already. My first week weigh in is Monday. I'm hoping I will be able to move my ticker.

3. 195-150 for now. Might go below 150 when I get there.
4. Logging food is helping a lot. my reslove is pretty strong this time...so far.
5. I work a lot. In addition to my 9-5 job, I'm a server at a restaurant in the evenings and on weekends. I also do staffing for a cater and work his events also. When I have free time, I'm game for anything my friends want to do. Work a lot, but NEVER miss church.

2 - seeing my dress size drop slowly but surely! And seeing my muscles take form!
3 - Starting at 185 - GOAL: 150 (that would put me at nice size 12 with a coca-cola bottle figure!) :)
4 - Make the right food choices and portion control!
5 - RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE and customizing it and my look! Looking classy AND now working on the sexy on my bike in the spring and summer! Spending time with my husband and two son's as much as possible. Going to the gym--its like a nice cold beer to me--refreshing and relaxes me.
6 - Somewhere I can ride my motorcycle all year round!
7 - DC Metropolitan area - Native New Yor-ka! :)

3) 136ish, 114-110. Depends on how I feel/look at 114. I remember looking 7 feeling great at 110.

4)Logging & reminding myself Rome wasn't built in a day so this lifestyle will take time to become permanent.

5) Time with family & pets, read, crafts.

6) In no particular ordersome of the possibilities are: Paris, Toronto, New Orleans, San Francisco, Santa Fe, Dallas, and just about any place in California

-2 What is your favorite part? Fitting into my small clothes and then having them be too big! Seeing muscles and bones I didn't even know were under there. :-)

-4 Most important thing you do to stay on track? Log everything, even those bad days!! I usually see that one bad day is ok in the context of the whole week. However, if I don't log it, it just spirals into many (many, many) days.
