There's not an excuse I haven't used. I don't call them excuses anymore; they're habits. I've used them for so long I'm considered a professional (not boasting believe me). The brain is the only organ that can give so much pleasure and cause so much pain all at the same time. Thank goodness people like you force people like me to be honest if only for a while.

I have been that slacker too many times. Yesterday I tried to convince myself that the storm clouds were too black and a thunder shower was sure to happen if we went bike riding...good thing my hubby felt otherwise. Had a good ride and no rain or thunder! Sometimes all we need is someone else to be a voice of reason to our slacker.

yep, yep! My current excuse: It's my birthday, I'm gonna eat what I want!

While we all have an off day, and yes I've had my share. I have found that following the 80/20 rule is what works best for me. I have to track everything, no way around it, but if I am mindful and stick with a healthy eating plan 80% of the time, if I happen to go out with friends, or it's my birthday, and I want to have a small indulgence then I do and I track it. Some may not agree with this philosophy, but it does work for me.

As I picked up the gauntlet with my fitness again (finally) I notice others excuses and that I was them for years. Thanks for posting this, it reminds me of my WHY.
