I have a friend who goes on one of those crash diets whenever he wants to lose weight. He lost 17lbs. on that lemon drink diet. All was good! Everyone complimented him on how good he looked. But within weeks, he gained all the weight back. Then he did it again! Lost weight, and gained it all back.

I weighed a sloppy 230lbs. a few years ago. I tried all the recommendations, nothing worked. Finally, I decided to do things my way and not follow those diets I read about in all the books. I started with eliminating certain foods that I knew were bad for me. Not immediately, but gradually. I upped my cardio and worked with minimal weights. That’s all I did.

One day, I decided to try on some pants that were previously too tight on me. Low and behold, they fit perfectly! From 230lbs I was now down to 209lbs. I was ecstatic. I continued with my cardio routines with light weights. I stopped eating fast food and began measuring what I ate. I got to the point where I went down to 160lbs.

It took me 2 years to reach my goals, but I did it. Once I got to my target weight, I started lifting weights. I kept to my cardio workout on non weight lifting days.


If you want to lose weight, take your time, don't rush it. Sit down and calculate how you can make certain changes in your lifestyle. Log everything you eat for about a week. At the end of that week, review your list and see what improvements you need to make.

Log your workout routines also to see where you may need to add or lessen routines. Change up your routines as well so you don’t get bored.

Don't go with fad diets, quick diets, crash diets. In the end, you'll wind up regretting them. If you take your time on yourself, you'll get better results.
