My Reasons For Losing Weight

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Most people wait for the new year before they resolve to make major life changes. I have decided to take action now, although the new year is so close, it is time for me to take action.

 Here are my reasons for taking action now and losing weight:

  • Health
This is the primary reason. My family has a history of heart problems and diabetes so, while I have been able to avoid any of these problems, losing weight now will significantly reduce the risk of developing these problems in the future.
  • Age
It has been scientifically proven that the older a person gets the harder it is to change their lifestyle choices for the better e.g smoking, drinking, weight loss.
  • Social Acceptance 
Im often out and about with friends or family and although nothing is said I can feel the stares from people, almost hear what they are thinking. Fat people are people too, and although we don't appear to let it bother us that people look at us like we are freaks, it does bother us. We aren't made of stone.
  • Relationship 
This goes hand-in-hand with the reason above. It is so very difficult to meet a partner when you are over weight, mainly because of the "first impression" theory. I have many friends who are girls, but have no girlfriends.
