I gained 65 lbs during my pregnancy and would love to get back down to where I was before I got pregnant, then be on my way to my goal weight.
My first goal was to lose weight, now I'm just trying to gain a healthy 25-35lbs through the pregnancy.
I'm your typical American woman who has tried, half-heartedly at diets, saw a brief drop on the scale and immediately celebrated by breaking said diet, then all together giving up on it and breaking even, or weighing more than I did before. I am pretty active, but I over-eat. I am not getting any younger, and I am realizing that my weight is making me uncomfortable. I feel disappointed pretty much everyday that I look in the mirror. I don't even remember what it feels like to feel physically good about myself. I need to break the cycle of my bad eating habits and make a plan to hold myself accountable.
Why I want to get in shape
My husband and I were married last May and due to financial reasons, we never took a honeymoon. I took time off of work this coming November for 3 weeks and am currently planning our honeymoon in Belize. Scuba diving and snorkeling will be on our list of things to do, and I don't want to feel embarrassed by my body, and I don't want to go around covered up the whole time. I joined a bicycle racing team a month ago and am scheduled to compete in two 100 mile races this summer. I know that I will be so much faster with every extra pound of fat that I can lose from now until then.
- Get faster on all my bikes.
- Keeping up with (and eventually beating) my husband (on a bike, no abuse : )
- Feeling more at home and confident in my skin.
- Be a good example for my son.
