Any chance that the Nike Fuelband will become part of the software / calorie updates. The problem with the FitBit is you have to be near your computer to get the point credits added to your myfitnesspal. The Fuelband has a handy 'force sync' mode and uses bluetooth to update your iphone fuelband app on the fly. MyFitnessPal could then take the data from the Nike app and add the calories based on some mystical formula....

This would be the perfect solution. Nike would probably be receptive of this idea since it would sell more fuelbands.

Thank you for the great suggestion. We will definitely consider adding Nike's Fuelband for a future update.

id love to see this!!!!

the fitbit is too awkward to use - it falls off and gets lost too easy. Ive lost 2 of them - at least with fuelband, its there, and secure!

please please please integrate this!

+1. I replaced my FitBit (wore it daily since last summer) with the FuelBand, and would love to see this integration..

To be fair....I have and use both.......The Fuelband is probably one of the worst devices in terms of accuracy. .

my issue with fitbit is how a guy has to wear it - clipped on belt or somehow to waist... Ive lost two of them because of the crappy way they secure to your belt.

if they would just improve the design of how it is worn...

That would be awesome to have integration. I've heard Nike+ Fuelbands don't currently have an API for third parties to tie into, but you've got to think it would make sense for them to open it up so they could sell more Fuelbands. Let's hope it is soon.

Definitely a +1 from me for that suggestion. Please integrate the services if you can, even if only registering fuelband calories in the same way you currently recognise fitbit calories.

I would love to see this added as well!

+1 from me. Fuel band should be arriving in my mailbox tomorrow. Perhaps we should be contacting Nike to open up their system to MFP.

I know you guys are most likely working on it, but just as a +1 or "me too" from the old newsgroup days... I'd like to see this!

Do any of you have a work-around or a formula that you use to translate the fuel band calories to MFP? For example, I had a fairly lazy day and got 3000 Fuel (900 calories). I logged 170 calories for 45 minutes of Wii Fit. What do I do with the remaining 730 calories? That seems like too much to just add in as an adjustment considering I'm only allowed 1200 calories for the day.

this would be fantastic. I LOVE my fuelband. I hit 10k fuel in ONE day today and mfp integration would be fantastic.

any fuelband users, please feel free to friend me.

I think I figured out a formula to integrate Nike Fuel Band Calories into MFP!! This is how I am coming up with an exercise that I will Call "Fuel Band Adjust"

Fuel Band Calorie Daily total (-) previously credited calories (-) Life Style Calories* (=) Fuel Band Adjust

* Life StyleCalories (=) Normal Daily Calories (-) BMR
MFP is already taking your lifestyle into account when setting your normal daily calories. I just calculated how many calories above BMR.

Here's a sample taken from my day on Sunday:

2230 calories (Normal Daily Cals)
- 1530 calories (BMR)
= 700 calories (Lifestyle)

900 calories (Fuel Band Total)
-177 calories (entered as Wii Fit Step)
-700 calories (lifestyle)
=23 calories "Fuel Band Adjust"

I would also love to see the Nike+ Fuel Band integration and a useful section on how to intepret the calorie output it gives. There appears to be a lot of conflicting views as to whether the calories are MBR+additional movement or just additional movement (i.e. I could add the total calories on my nike fuel band at the end of the day as an exercise line item - or even better - the app synchronises when you write the API! ;-)

Hope this makes sense?

I want it too!smile

I'm considering selling my Nike Fuel band in order to get the Fitbit simply for the integration with MFP. It would be great if MFP (Nike too) could make the fuel band compatible!!! I'd be more than thrilled!

Thanks for doing the leg work on this i am very interested in using my Nike+ FB in conjunction with this app. I must admit that i am pretty new to the idea of measuring my fitness levels etc. Could you explain more about what you mean when you say "Normal Daily Cals"?

Is this the number that the app (i use the iphone app) has provided me? or is this something that i would calculate?

Perhaps it is the amount of calories that I consume every day?

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Alex Rose
