With all the issues that seem to be apparent with the Jawbone UP, has the sync option been suspended? I bought my UP today and tried to connect my UP with MFP, but it doesnt bring over any data at all. I was able to sync other apps just fine.

At the time of this posting the only issue should be that meal data is not syncing to UP reliably and when it does the timestamps are not accurate in the UP feed. Exercise data should be coming to MyFitnessPal at 30 minute intervals though as expected.

Hello startnow58 & Maxmom4,

I am seeing UP adjustments in your exercise diaries.

How can you see what we do not see? My meals are in UP but there is NO adjustments in My Fitness Pal from my UP activities, not yesterday and not today. If I could attach a picture, I would show you. Signed in on web and the app on my ipad show 0 exercise for yesterday and today

Hi,

The important difference here is that you do actually see the Up Adjustment. You may not think it is correct, but we do see it in your diary. When there is an issue often users report they can not see their adjustment because the adjustment is not there at all. If your adjustment is reading zero constantly it is because you have not enabled negative calories and have not burned enough calories with your up band to "Adjust" the MyFitnessPal estimation.

Enabling a negative calorie adjustment from your integration with Up band will give you the most accurate information about your calorie expenditure for the day. A negative calorie adjustment indicates that you are using fewer calories on a given day than our original MyFitnessPal estimate.

The option for allowing negative calorie adjustments can be found by logging in to your account at www.myfitnesspal.com, then clicking "My Home" then "Settings" then "Diary settings". Check the box for "Enable Negative Adjustments" then click "Save Changes." Your settings will take effect the next time data syncs from your device.

We recommend enabling negative adjustments if:

you expect to wear your tracking device consistently
you would like the most accurate calorie feedback MyFitnessPal can provide
your device is able to sync its data multiple times over the course of the day

We recommend disabling negative adjustments if:

you do not expect to wear your device consistently
your device can only sync occasionally, or only late in the day
you wish to use the device only for the motivational experience of earning additional calories

Hope this helps to eliminate any confusion. Just to double check I looked into your account, your goal yesterday was 2024 Net Calories. Your Up band reported 1899 calories burned as of 11:43pm. The difference between the two programs is -125 and thus this is why you do not have an Adjustment below 0.

Cheers,
Scott

I do in fact have negative enabled. And it was enabled yesterday For yesterday, there is a UP adjustment but next to it, there are dashes. for today there is no UP adjustment. It is not there with or with out the dashes. So I do not know what else I can do. I CAN in fact see happy but did not see or read the expanded until today. Not sure why the adjustment is not in todays will it come back before midnight?

Also totally confused on the 2024 calories net, that is what I would eat if I did not want to lose? And my goal is 1200, that goal is adjusted up if I exceed burning more than 2024? Thanks!

And now I eat my foot. You are correct, you do have negative calories enabled, sorry I missed that before. I do see that it is not actually giving you your negative calories though which is very odd. I will have the team look into this further tomorrow.

As for the 2024 calories, this is your Net Calorie Goal. We set your nutritional target in Net Calories which we define as:

Calories Consumed (Food) - Calories Burned (Exercise) = Net Calories

This means that if you exercise, you will be able to eat more for that day. For example, if your Net Calorie goal is 2000 calories, one way to meet that goal is to eat 2,500 calories of food, but then burn 500 calories through exercise.

Think of your Net Calories like a daily budget of calories to spend. You spend them by eating, and you earn more calories to eat by exercising. We do not recommend that any member consume fewer than 1200 net calories on any given day.

Hope this helps and I will touch base with you tomorrow on why you are not seeing an Adjustment.

Hello, I seem to be having the same issues. I have negative calories allowed, and am seeing a negative 40 cals, but my last sync when I click on my diary, then the calorie adjustment, is showing the last sync as of 3-something am. Well, obviously I am asleep at that time!! I have synced several times with zero success.

Now, it is not even syncing my food to the Jawbone UP so not sure what to do
May 29, 2013 4:31 AM
Exactly the same here, food has not synced since breakfast yesterday!

I disconnected and reconnected my two apps - from the MFP website two days in a row - since then no problems - knock on wood!

I disconnected and reconnected and nothing is syncing between the two at all. I dont know what is going on.

I guess no one is responding to this thread any longer and I have tried everything including deleting and reloading the apps to no avail...nothing syncs at all for me so I am going to try a different food app but good luck to everyone who sticks with my fitness pal!

The thing is, it is syncing fine for a lot of people. The technician already admitted that yours looks weird for some reason, but it isn't a common issue.

Hi,

We are always responding to all threads in this section. It may take us a few days, but we do go through all of the posts.

As for the syncing with UP we are awaiting them to push out several fixes on their end that should hopefully correct any issues on MyFitnessPal.

As soon as a fix is in place we will let everyone know.

We appreciate your patience.

Cheers,
Scott
