When searching for foods here
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/search

There is no indication of the amount of calories in each item. On the mobile version (Android) it gives you the amount of calories next to the brand name. This is very useful if you are trying to match the correct entry with the packet you have.

As an improvement, I would suggest making the calories number larger and right align it (mobile)... this lets you place importance on the amount of calories in there which is great if you are researching foods you can eat when on a calorie restricted diet.

Expanding on that further, let the user choose which figure is important to them. Maybe they are doing a low Carb diet, in that case show the Carbs number there and make it large.

I also use an android and do not have that issue there is a place available to see all nutrients and you can also set up your daily intake for the type of diet you are on. I do not consider the MFP a diet it was a change of life of eating habits stay within your limit, watch your sugar , sodium intake along with a decrease in carbs and an increase in protein and success is there. 145 lbs later and three years and still having fun with it. When you scan products it gives you everything and when you type in the product name it gives you all the information to make a very good conscious choice.
