I would like to see actual numbers from the reports instead of just the graphs. Tell me the average even for a specific period would be helpful. Ont he other hand, the app has a nice graph showing the breakdown of protein/carbs/fat and I would love to see that ont he web version since no one I spoke to knows about it.

I'm sure it's been posted before, so consider this another vote: I want to be able to see the macros for all the foods I add, right there in the diary. As it is, on the app, I can only see my macro reports for the whole day, and even that I can only see in amongst all the other nutrient info on the "Details" tab.

Based on screenshots, at least, the FatSecret app does this - at least, the screenshot shows fat/carbs/protein for the whole day and for each meal, right on the diary:

I would like the option to be able to set my own daily targets for macronutrient intake rather than MyFitnessPal calculating them for me.

The current app calculates protein requirements way below those shown as optimal in the latest studies on protein metabolism for strength athletes. The low protein calculation means that fats & carbs are then also wrong.

Obviously I can ignore the recommendations and just eat to the numbers that are actually correct for me, but it would be nice if I could have the app display the numbers I need.

my home > goals > change goals > custom
you are limited to 5% increments but you don't have to use the default settings for carbs / fat / protein, or the sodium limit, or be limited to only 100% of the DV for the vitamins / minerals that MFP tracks.

This app is amazing!!

I would love two things to be added

(1). The ability to log PHOTOS of your body!! (Ie incremental "before and after" shots)

(2). The ability to create a personal list of foods you regularly purchase (through barcode scan) independent of which meal type it is or the need to add a food you cannot find.

Keep up the good work!!

I just searched for this suggestion and have seen a number of requests. Would appreciate the ability to track Blood Pressure as a fraction rather than having to add a couple of lines to add each figure....will this happen any time soon? Thanks!

I agree with both of the above suggestions. But I came here to ask for something similar to #2 - In the app, it would be nice if I could select a food, say, for a snack that I had for lunch, or a lunch item from the dinner section, etc. Perhaps the search function could be programmed to place the items that are most recently logged at the top of the results? Thanks!

Oh, and of course, I LOVE your site and app! Thank you MyFitnessPal! smile

It's a user settable option on every platform MFP is available on.

For the apps
Windows Phone
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/212-can-i-see-my-frequent-items-across-all-of-my-meals-not-just-the-meal-i-am-adding-a-food-to
iPad iPhone use the same one as Android
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/75-can-i-see-my-most-used-items-across-all-of-my-meals-not-just-the-meal-i-am-adding-a-food-to
Blackberry
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/120-can-i-see-my-most-used-items-across-all-of-my-meals-not-just-the-meal-i-am-adding-a-food-to

Website - food > food diary> pick a meal and click add food> on the "add food to (selected meal) page there is a search box and RIGHT below that search box it says "Or add favorites for (selected meal)" - DEFAULT behaviour
click that "selected meal" and pick the only other option which is ALL MEALS.
Now the items you've logged for meal 1 are available for meal 3. Can be easily changed every time you access the food diary depending how many items you want available to pick from

The sorting can be done by "default" which is the most recently used item should be the first result on your recent list or it can be by name. Done in the food > diary > pick a meal and click add food, on the right above the recipes tab (in the list of most used / recent / my foods / my meals / recipes) is the sort by option.

Many of us enter the same entries daily for supplements, protein shakes, or foods we regularly eat daily at specific times. For example, i take the same vitamins and supplements twice daily and start my day with the same protein shake (or a very close version of it). i do use the quick tools to copy these manually across the next week which takes several steps to ccpy 20+ meals across the next seven days. It would be nice to be able to be able to set them up so they were added automatically just prior to the. day. On the rare occasion that I skipped the daily routine, it's easy enough to delete an entry not used, which is what I do now.

I'm sure many people tracking their nutrients also manually log the same daily items. Besides the personal convenience, this also adds network/server traffic that could be instead run in a batch process just prior to midnight.

I would like to have the app available for my Blackberry Z10.

I'd like to be able to download my personal data into Excel (I'm a geek like that laugh ). I've not been able to find if that's possible, so it would be handy!

I would like to add a seperate area on my food diary for "supplements, vitamins and Rx".. It would be helpful to track and printout for my medical checkups....

You can. In web version go to food: settings. And just add the category

I would like to be able to access community on the app version. When I access web version on my phone it goes so screwy and I end up prematurely submitting things because it just goes crazy!! Also the ability to access links that people post via the app.

As well as what others have said, I would like to be able to receive notifications for replies to posts or forum threads :). I know this isn't Facebook but it'd be nice to not miss something especially if it was a question or whatnot.

I really find it hard to keep tracks of my macros since the Android app overhaul. Having the macro tabs on the home menu insteead of the same as the diary like before is REALLY inconvinient.

I love the MFP android app.
But something i'm really missing is

1) the possibility to create more than 6 meal times a day. 8 would be ideal -> breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, pre-workout, post-workout, diner and evening snack.

2) the possibility to get an overview of the amount of carbs, proteins, fat, finer per meal. Currently this overview is only available per day and per week; but not per meal. Via the MFP website this info is available, but not via the android App. This information is however very important. It is key to distribute the protein, carbs, fat and finer intake per meal.

I drink a coffee every day in the morning, it would be cool if I can set MFP to add it every day automatically.

Tnx

Edit: Even better would be if I can specify on which day of the week it should be automatically added.

This would be great! Set up recurring things like that. At the moment it can be quite time consuming to add in your food - what would be awesome is a barcode scanner so you can just zap and portion.

Sleep tracker would be good - many people who are sleep deprived eat more than they need to in a unconscious bid to fuel extra waking hours.

Fit tracking apps - like walkit - would be great if they reported to MFP or if MFP had their own version.

Website and Apps Suggestions:

It would be great if what you scanned (bar code) at the grocery store could be saved to a "Recently Bought" tab in the Add Foods page next to the "Recent", "Frequent", "My Foods", "Meals", and "Recipe" tabs. this way when I get home, I will have those ingredients and or products listed for easy inclusion into my Food Diary. The bar code scanning piece already exists, we just need a place to list the products that were scanned.

thanks

In the recipe section, I'd love to be able to alter the ingredients without having to completely delete it, then search and add again. I like to play around with new recipes and see what ingredients and amounts of ingredients work best. If I could simply click on the pasta, for example, that I've added to a recipe and change the amount from 2 cups to 1.5 instead of deleting the whole thing and starting again, would be great! Thanks!

I am really not liking the new update for the MFP app OR the web site. Both are not very user friendly. I am very frustrated with it. The web site is very tacky and doesn't fit on my web page well.
