Sorry for any inconvenience. May I ask you to check a few items that will help us to determine if your accounts are syncing properly? Because we can't access your Fitbit account directly, it will be very helpful if you can check the following items to see if they match between your accounts.

There are four data points that you can compare between your Fitbit and MFP accounts to determine if your accounts are syncing properly.

These four items are Fitbit Steps, Fitbit Sleep Minutes, Weight and the FitBit Adjustment (for calories burned).

You can see your Weight, Fitbit Steps and Fitbit Sleep Minutes in two places on the website:

1. Under the "My Home" tab, click "Check-In". This will take you to a screen where you can enter in new progress measurements. This is where we record your Fitbit Steps and Fitbit Sleep Minutes. If you want to go directly to that screen you can go to this URL:

2. You can see a graph of your Steps and Sleep Minutes by going to the "Reports" tab and choosing to graph "Progress". When you see the option to "Choose a Report" you can choose Steps or Sleep Minutes. This will give you a little graph.

(Note that if you do not attach your Fitbit to the wrist band and set it to stopwatch mode when you sleep, you should not expect to see any Fitbit Sleep Minutes data.)

You can also see Steps, Sleep, and Weight in the "Progress" page of our mobile apps.

If you want to verify that the Fitbit calorie adjustment is working correctly, here's an explanation of how we calculate the adjustment:

To understand your Fitbit Calorie Adjustment for any completed day, take your "Calories burned from normal daily activity" on your goals page (

Add to it any exercise calories you've burned as shown in your exercise diary, but don't include your Fitbit Adjustment

Compare that total to your calories burned on your Fitbit (only if it's an entire day's worth of calories)

The difference between the two is your Fitbit adjustment

The adjustment that you see during the course of an incomplete day is a projection made for the entire day, based on the amount of activity currently reported by Fitbit. Your adjustment will become more accurate of the course of the day, each time your Fitbit has a chance to update with your account on

You can see the details of any day's calorie adjustment by tapping the small "i" next to the adjustment in the Exercise Diary (on the full website) or by tapping the adjustment in the MyFitnessPal iPhone app.

Here is a more detailed explanation of the way we calculate the projected adjustment before a day is over:

If you only have a partial day's worth of calories on your Fitbit, we calculate how many minutes are left in the day, and we use that to create a projection for how many calories you'll burn today.

The calculation is: Fitbit calories so far for the day + (minutes left in the day / total minutes in a day) * (calories burned from normal daily activity)

So for example, if it's 12 noon, you've burned 1200 calories so far today according to Fitbit, and your calories burned from normal daily activity on MFP is 2000, the projection is:

1200 + (720 / 1440) * 2000 =
1200 + (1/2) * 2000 =
1200 + 1000=
so the adjustment becomes
2200 - 2000 (mfp calories burned from normal daily activity)=

After comparing the activity on Fitbit and the related synced items on MFP, if you find a discrepancy or a failure to sync, please let us know the details and we will be happy to investigate further.

This is happening to me as well. I have confirmed that no data is appearing under "check in" for fitbit even though it is on fitbit's website

Edit: just started working again

Same here, my calorie intake is not being sent to fitbit and the adjustments aren't going to MFP. I've tried unsyncing the accounts and syncing again but still no joy.

I am having the same issue as well. This has happened on a few occaissions before, but when I would unsync the account and connect them it would automatically sync. However, today I have not had any success. The accounts still will not sync.sad

Same thing here. No syncing for calories intake with food or fitbit adjustment. I have also unlinked the pages and linked them again and no luck:( Hope it is resolved soon.

I'm having the same issue. I purchased a fitbit zip yesterday and set up went very smoothly. Steps were synced to Fitbit and I was able to see them in MFP up until about 8:30 this morning. Now MFP will not pick up the step count from Fitbit even after disconnecting and reconnecting the accounts and also logging out and back in. FRUSTRATING and somewhat of a productivity killer, I might add. :(

Happening to me as well again, why must you guys break the synching on what seems a weekly basis! :(

This time, it's not working in either direction: Activities aren't being passed over to fitbit, and fitbit adjustments aren't showing up in MFP.

I am going crazy this morning with it!!! I did an extra 130 calories today on the DREADMILL and I want my damn calories!! Happy it's not just me!

I'm having the same issues that everybody else is having. My Fit Bit Ultra device and Fit Bit home page site shows exercise and calories burned, but they are not syncing into my MyFitnessPal account. I've followed every suggestion to update/fix this with no success.

Same here with the ultra - the food is syncing from MFP to fitbit, but the steps/exercise from fitbit aren't coming to MFP!

Same thing here.

Not working for me either... wish there was some update on how long before things will be working again. ohwell
March 15, 2013 7:43 AM
I'm having the same problem, except i have a fitbit zip, not a one. My exercises aren't syncing over here and my food is not syncing over to my fitbit.

Mine has not sync'd since yesterday =(
March 15, 2013 7:45 AM
Not syncing for me either....
March 15, 2013 7:46 AM
Nothing syncing here. Food and exercise are not going to the Fitbit site. Calorie adjustments are not going to MFP. And weight, body fat, and step recordings are not being sent to the "Check in" area of MFP.
March 15, 2013 7:54 AM
Me too. No sync. Nada.
March 15, 2013 8:04 AM
Yeah i have noticed that today too, my calories burned are not syncing from my Fitbit One to my fitness pal. and my fitbit dashboard was showing meals i haven't even eaten yet. my fitbit is syncing to my fitbit dashboard though. it was working yesterday. huh

No syncing for me either. I've currently got -111 calories from exercise despite doing nearly 7,000 steps. Arg!

No syncing either way here either.
March 15, 2013 8:13 AM
Does anyone know how to input FitBit values manually and accurately? :-/
March 15, 2013 8:21 AM
I am having the same issue. It seems to be a MFP issue and not a fitbit issue.

Here's why I think that:

1. correctly shows my steps.
2. has my food entry summarizes from MFP.
3. The iOS application 'TactioHealth' is able to get the fitbit steps from when I launch that app.

Now, I know the API is probably different for TactioHealth and MFP (since TactioHealth is an iOS app and not a web site, it doesn't use OAuth), but all indications show this as a MFP issue.

This "not syncing" issue hasn't happened in a while, I was hoping MFP/Fitbit had figured out the communication woes, unfortunately not.
