Dear MFP founders and staff:

We are two MFP friends who are were wondering if you at MFP realize how many lives you have changed, even saved.

We would like to thank you, and tell you how important you've been to us. We've of course lost weight; our combined loss is 155 lbs. ((ktsmom430 gets most of the credit!) and are closing in on our goals.

KathleenC12 lowered her dangerously high blood pressure to normal (without drugs) and ktsmom430 finished her first 5K walkathon!

And as a bonus, we have supportive new friends from all over the world. We are both confident we can maintain our healthy weight given your tools and our motivation.

So, sincere and heartfelt thanks; you have given us the gift of a terrific resource, and we appreciate this deeply.

That is AWESOME! I too would like to thank MFP and its creators. This has helped me a lot, even though I still struggle, but this sight has been great.

I, too, want to thank you from the bottom of my heart <3. I only found this site in January -- but it's already become an indispensable tool in my quest to get healthy. This morning was my 40th day of logging in -- small potatoes compared to some here, but it's making a big difference in my health and fitness level.

Thank you too to all the experienced MFPers who must get so roll-your-eyes tired at answering the same newbie questions over and over and over again (think 1200 calories ;-) ...) ... thank you for remembering that when we start ... we don't know, and that each time you help someone graciously it is life-changing for them.

We couldn't have achieved the results we have either, had it not been for the toolkit, advice and support that is MFP (with a side thanks to fitbit, too).

Thank you, KathleenC12, for starting this topic, and for thus prompting us to say thank you to the guys who make this possible.

I started just over a month ago and have lost about 9 pounds! About 3 months ago I developed a back issue which has prevented me from my normal physical activities like off-road motorcycle riding, tennis, long hikes with my two Goldens, etc. i wasn't moving but I was still eating the same. Consumer Reports had an article about "diet plans" and MFP scored very high so I downloaded it on my iPad. I started tracking what I was eating and was shocked about the number of calories were in some of my favorite foods. For instance at Red Robin the Banzai Burger (my favorite) was over 1,000 calories!
I started my log and tried to stay within my target and soon the pounds were coming off! It was slow but that is supposed to be better for you anyway vs. fast weight loss. I started ordering off the Fit Fare menus at resturants and found many dishes which were still very tasty and yet quite filling. Sometimes I find at the end of the day I still have calories left so I reward myself with a small dish of ice cream or sherbet but I no longer put Hershey's syrup over it.
I am very pleased with this program and I'm amazed at the extent of their database. A friend even brought us some "moonpies" from Korea. It was difficult to read the box since it was in Korean but I typed in the name and MFP had it in their database! Amazing!
I am sticking with this and hope to lose another 10-15 pounds. If my back gets better and I can be more active and I know that will help too. Already I have tightened my belt by one hole, sometimes two. I'm 60 years old so losing weight is more difficult but so far so good. I am just so happy I read Consumer Reports and downloaded this app!

smile yes I would like to thank you too. I have wanted to lose a stone for the last few years - I'm 55 and whilst I used to be able to eat anything I liked, and even though I exercise a lot, the pounds were piling on. I started my diet on 2nd January and since then I have lost 12lbs and I am absolutely thrilled. It really does help logging in everything you eat and it has certainly worked for me. It has also good being able to link the Runtastic application with your app too and I have been pleasantly surprised at how many calories I burn off during my regular exercise (mainly walking dogs and dog training). Thank you MFP - loads of my friends are using it too and they are getting the same terrific results. wink
