This may be an obvious question but I am really curious......

You have a set amount of calories you want to hit every day. If you go over one day and are under the next do the calories from your over day roll over? I understand that it's not as simple as this, and I'm not exactly sure how to ask this, so hopefully you get the gist of what I'm saying. Basically, if you are to hit 1200 cals a day which come to 8400 a week, will it even out byt the end of the week? This is assuming that you are eating healthy, you just happen to over eat a little one day.

I tend to go by a weekly average rather than worry about day to day - so yeah, as long as the "under" days are balanced out by "over" days, then I'm happy :)

Once I started looking at my calories as a weekly goal instead of just a daily goal, it made life much easier. If I go over one day instead of feeling bad about it or feeling like I failed, I just try to make sure that the rest of the week balances out. If I want to go out somewhere that has high calorie meals, I try to cut a few calories a day to make sure that I have banked a surplus by the time that day arrives.

IMO, looking at it as a week long thing instead of a daily thing can be very helpful. (For me, though I'm sure some people would disagree).

For me I go by the daily. I am a different case though. I did Weight Watchers and they have the whole carry over of exercise and points. I have some metabolic issues due to a gluten intolerance being undiagnosed for 40+ years. I had no weight loss with weekly but with daily it has been steady. Because of my metabolism being thrown off I can only eat calories I burn the day I burn them. Hopefully when all is right I will be able to do a weekly average. It is easier for real life but I have to say I add in exercise if something comes up like a 6 block walk to a restaurant on a "rest " day because I want the cushion.
Find what works for you, there is no right or wrong as everyone is different. Best of luck

Yes, they more or less "roll over". It's not necessary to eat the same every day. As long as you have a deficit on avereage you will lose. I typically eat ligher during the weekly just because I know I'll eat more on the weekend.

For those of you who eat lighter during the week do you find yourself hungry throughout the day? Also, do you find yourself tiring quicker when you exercise?

I can't "bank" significant deficits during the week (i.e. to save up for a weekend splurge) because of this. I need food or my workouts are useless. Especially on days when I work out (which is all but one week day) I could eat all day afterwards. It's hard enough to stay in my allowance, let alone save up for the end of the week! What works for me is that we usually have a slower start to the day on weekends, so end up eating a later "brunch" rather than a breakfast and lunch, so I end up skipping one of my midday meals/snacks. That usually gives me more wiggle room by the end of the day to enjoy some treats or a few tasty beverages :)

I don't, but I have a desk job so I typically sit most of the day except for my workout during the week. I don't eat super low calorie during the week though. During the week I'm typically somewhere in the 1400 - 1600 range and on the weekends usually 1800-2000.
