I'd like to request universal measurement dials that do built-in serving-size conversion. I am spending Way, Way, Way too much time on Google Converting Every Food into the available measurement conversions...
All serving size dials should provide All measurement choices - by teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, gram, ounce. The conversion can happen behind scenes. That's what software is for, right? ;)
- Whey Isolate Protein Powder - I had 1 teaspoon. But the "serving size" dial on my iPad only let's me choose in Grams. I don't KNOW how many grams are in a teaspoon of this powder. The website says "scoop", that helps, but then it turns out that "scoop" doesn't appear on my iPad version.
- Starkist Tuna Fish - same problem. I had two Tablespoons. But the "serving size" dial only allows me to choose in Grams. Back to google I go...
- Bob's Red Mill Coconut Flour - Oh. My recipe asks for 1/2 cup. But the "serving size" dial only allows me to choose in Tablespoons. Gah.
- Then I put in 1/2 teaspoon of Lucuma powder. But wait, Generic Lucuma Powder only dials in "Tablespoons". I don't know what fraction of a Tablespoon is 1/2 a teaspoon. 1/6? Oh but wait, it's Decimal. Oh for cripes sake.
**** That Was ONE recipe of ONE of several foods I ate in ONE Meal. I eat 6 times a day.
Then, for cripe sake I've even had to go look up how many blasted teaspoons were in 1/4 cup of something because the dial had one and not the other!
(Is there a place to enter in the exercise I get running to Google Conversions every food? Lots of calories burned there...)
So by the end of the day, this is just crazy discouraging. Plus it is inconsistent - the system lets me choose tablespoons on flour but not on protein powder? That's just frustrating.
What I'd like is a built-in converter that does a rough conversion FOR me -- so I can choose the measurement based on how *I* actually eat. If I put in 1/2 teaspoon of Lucuma powder, I choose 1/2 teaspoon.

The user should be able to just enter food the WAY we Enter it in our diet. No user should have to google convert Multiple Foods, Every Recipe, Every Meal.
If *I* can pseudocode this, any beginner programmer ought to be able to implement it. Let me know if your guys need help.
