Not meaning to come across as negative... these are just suggestions hopefully that will help you improve :)

They track a ton of nutrients (zinc, folate, caffiene etc.) and you can customize which one you want to see.

The "nutrients" that MFP has available are the ones required by the FDA to be on the label, even things like potassium aren't always on the label or if they were on the label they don't always get input by the user who is adding the item to the database. You can however pick which ones out of what's available you want to see

You can also adjust your goal of carbs vs. fat and calories which is SO great. The sugar goal that you have set is not realistic for me and it is frustrating seeing the red. I wish I could set it to my goal.
You can... your solution is in your post...

my home > GOALS > change goals > custom
increase or decrease your sugar / sodium targets etc

QUOTE:
They allow for may neasurements, hip, waist, calf, waist, thigh, bicep, neck and also a sleep tracker

So does MFP
my home > check in > track additional measurements
add another field for whatever you want to track IE if you track both arms and legs measurements you can add an entry for each one, you can add blood pressure - 3 fields, systolic, diastolic , BPM, blood sugar value for every time of day you have to check the measurement, body fat%, hours of sleep if you want to throw in when you went to bed to when you wake in the morning though you're perhaps not asleep for all that time,

Their daily and weekly analysis is really so great. They go by BMI and offer many suggestions on how to improve overall. Your company really needs to see how they do it.

Thanks!!

I'd like to link my profile with my wife's as more than just friend. When I create a recipe, or itemize a meal into my food diary, she has to do the exact same thing. I would like to have an option during the food diary addition to select items, meals, and/or recipes from friends. This way only one of us needs to itemize the meal or create a recipe and the other can just pull all the items down to their own meal. Once it is in my diary I can edit individual items if I ate more or less servings than my wife.

This app has been effective for both of us and we thank you greatly.

This exists. Friend each other and make sure your diary is visible to friends.
Create a recipe - log a serving of the recipe to your food diary. Or itemize the meal into the diary, whatever you want...
she comes and views YOUR diary from HER account and then clicks...

website click quick tools > copy to today
apps - iPhone, iPad, Android click the wrench / spanner in the header with the meal name > copy to today
it will copy the nutritional info of a recipe from your diary to hers. If you itemize the meal directly in the food diary each of you can make adjustments to the quantity of a given ingredient.

I am very grateful to myfitnesspal, and appreciate the friend that introduced me to this tracking diary. There are two (2) things I would like to see. The first is on the screen when you click on recent and at the bottom of the page is show menu board 1-4 and next. This numeration should be at both the top and bottom of the page, and it would be nice if the next button actually work to show other food that was entered in the past. Secondly, I use myfitnesspal food diary in conjunction with weight watchers. Well, you know weight watchers uses the point system on their meals. With all the new enhancements being made. I think it would be great if the food diary could show those points on the actual weight watchers food item and the other items entered, or at least provide a space to the side (front or back) to allow entrance of the points for each food item. Not sure if a copyright issue is involved with this, but it would be great.

The only real issue I have with this app is that finding foods is a pain.

1) I would love it if food was simply listed differently on the Web app - by name or type, not brand first. I.e. Sandwich, Turkey with Avocado, NOT the one I found on the Web app which is listed as Leaf and Drop Turkey Sandwich... I don't even know who Leaf & Drop is, but when I am scanning for a Turkey Sandwich, I'm not looking for L.

2) My Foods should be alphabetized (by name/type, not brand) - this would be much, much easier to search.

I agree with having the 'recents' tab be from all of your meals and not just the breakfast, lunch or dinner meals. I often eat the same thing for a different meal and don't want to have to re-add in the food when I just added it for a different meal the day before.

Then go ahead and change your lists

For the apps
Windows Phone
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/212-can-i-see-my-frequent-items-across-all-of-my-meals-not-just-the-meal-i-am-adding-a-food-to
iPad iPhone use the same one as Android
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/75-can-i-see-my-most-used-items-across-all-of-my-meals-not-just-the-meal-i-am-adding-a-food-to
Blackberry
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/120-can-i-see-my-most-used-items-across-all-of-my-meals-not-just-the-meal-i-am-adding-a-food-to

Website - food > food diary> pick a meal and click add food> on the "add food to (selected meal) page there is a search box and RIGHT below that search box it says "Or add favorites for (selected meal)" - DEFAULT behaviour
click that "selected meal" and pick the only other option which is ALL MEALS.
Now the items you've logged for meal 1 are available for meal 3. Can be easily changed every time you access the food diary depending how many items you want available to pick from

Not sure if this has been suggested yet but here are two that I would like to see:

1. Ability to search for friends by user name (as opposed to email etc)
2. When we add a food to our diary it should be available in every meal moving forward, not just the meal that we added it to originally.

Otherwise, the app and online versions seem to work really well, thanks!

See the post prior to yours for the "fix" for number 2. It's simply the default behaviour that your lists are meal by meal... and number 1.
www.myfitnesspal.com/username
to go to their profile... click add friend from the "send message > add friend and depending on their settings "view diary" buttons shown to the right of their profile picture.

I like this one. That would be cool!

QUOTE:

Create a bar code scanning system for smart phones whereby you are able to scan a bar code on any given machine in the gym and it automatically knows the machine / muscle group and you just enter the weight and reps you did.

It then tracks what weight and reps you did last time so that next week you can remember and push yourself harder.

And it calculates more accurately what the burns should be for weight training.

And after 3 months it suggests other machines to switch to so that your workouts remain fresh and challenging.

* I would like to track more meals per day.
* I'd like to see a running count of "Consecutive days logged in" on my profile page
* I would like to have the reports page overlay calorie intake with daily weight fluctuations on the same graph.

Great App, how about a queue of the items you scan in (groceries) so that you when you are at the store or putting away your groceries you scan it to the queue, then when you use/eat it you have a ready list to add to your breakfast, lunch or dinner. Then depending on how often you use it, it slowly drops off the scan list. Example . Suppose you go to the store and you need a vinegarette, you buy it and bring it home. You scan the vinegarette and put in the fridge. When you use/eat it, you pull the vinegarette from your scanned list and enter it into your breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you don't use the item, it will over time drop off the scan list, or you have a set amount like 20 items on your scan list, if the item is used it goes into the respective recent items list.

Also allowing items from breakfast, lunch and dinner to be interchangeable in the recent items list.

Hey.. I really think the progress chart tht we hav to keep track of our weight/inch loss could b modified a little. I wud like to see my progress in more detail as in if we could could have 1 kg breakdown on the weight axis instead of 3 kg tht wud b really helpful. And if there is already a way to change that in the app then I dunno abt it and would love to hav some help on tht. Other than tht the app works wonderfully for me. Have lost 5 kgs, that is almost 10 pounds in 3 weeks. Have never been happier. Thank you Myfitnesspal.

Great app. would be made stupendous by:

1 connectivity with an app that measures HRV
2 garmin device connectivity or garmin connect connectivity (I imagine this is a commercial thing, but still)
3 a graphic that has all the net calories, sleep, HRV, training load (calories burned) etc all on one pic for possible interactions to be obvious
4 ability to set a goal macronutrient ratios for individual days and meals
5 ability to add pictures with weigh ins

I would like to see a "my favorites" tab in the food section. I used to do Weight Watchers and that was one of the best features. So, when you look up a food a button could be added saying "add to my favorites". These would be foods that we use often, but that might not make the "frequent" or "recent" tabs. In fact, if this feature were added, it might be put in place of one of those two tabs.

Love the site, but it gets to be a pain to look up the same things over and over, particularly when there are often many entries for each food, and some are more accurate than others. This way, when I find one that appears accurate, I simply add to my favorites and can easily find it again when I have that food a week later.

Thanks for the consideration!

Please! Add an option to turn off the exercise calorie allowance. I exercise to get in shape and loose weight, not to eat more calories!

The App is AWESOME . . .I would like to see better links to prepared restaurant foods. It seems like they only have a few so far.

60+ Olive garden
50+ Red Lobster
Mcdonalds endlessly
subway some variations of different subs with multiple toppings, only a few "just the basics' that I've found

try simply searching the restaurant name to see what comes up
Wendy's
Costco foodcourt for the items they have
ikea
5 guys
Dairy Queen
bah, pick a name, if it's a chain rather than a place that is a "mom n' pop" with one location in your local area they probably have at least a handful of menu items available on MFP

From the bottom of the "MFP homepage that you see when you're not logged in.."

Arby's
Buffalo
Wild Wings
Burger King
California Pizza Kitchen
Cheesecake Factory
Chipotle
Cold Stone Creamery
Dairy Queen
Gatorade
IHOP
KFC
Olive
Garden
Panera Bread
Pepsi
Pizza Hut
Red Lobster
Red Robin
Ruby Tuesday
Sonic
Starbucks
Subway
Taco Bell
Taco Time
Wendy's
McDonalds
Jack In The Box
Chili's
Texas Roadhouse
Dunkin Donuts
Papa Johns
Outback Steakhouse
Chick Fil A
Quiznos
Applebees
Tgi Fridays
is just a partial list of food "sources' you can find on MFP,
there are a couple cafeterias that have linked up their info,
the trucks I see delivering to tons of restaurants around here IE Sysco have a lot of database entries....

I would like to see fiber added to the daily counts.
March 11, 2013 6:27 AM
I would love to be able to delete foods from my 'frequent' list. I tried to do it from the website, per instructions, but the food item I needed to delete wasn't on the list, even though it shows on my phone.

Love this program. One of the better ones I've used. My 2 suggestions:

1) Be able to track more than 5 nutrients
2) This is a big one -- I want to be able to see my weight loss HISTORY. This will be a lifelong challenge (to keep my weight under control) and it would be VERY helpful to see trending weight loss (or even gain - if that's what's happening.)

I recently started monitoring/tracking my blood glucose as it reacts to meals. MyFitnessPal is my preferred meal logger, since it's amazing, but I have to use very simple and lame glucose logging apps to track that. I'd love to have either A) the ability to log glucose measurements in MyFitnessPal or B) a glucose app in your App Marketplace that integrates with MyFitness Pal. I'm not diabetic, or even prediabetic, I'm just supporting my wife who has gestational diabetes and curious about my blood sugar. After reading up on the science though I'm convinced that managing my blood sugar as I age will be good prevention for many diseases (especially dementia).

Thank you for making such an amazing app!

My home > check in > track additional measurements
at the bottom of the page that loads is "add another measurement" . Add a line per time of day that you check your blood sugar, if that's before and after all 6 meals then you'll need 12 entries if it's more often add more, if it's less often add less. You require one for each time you check it as if you tried to enter 12 'measurements" in one field MFP would only store the most recently recorded.

Adding fiber to the meal tracker can be done at food > settings pick it as one of your 5 optional columns.
