Your goal is your daily calorie budget before exercise enters the equation (using MFP in its default settings)
goal is what you want to aim for "net" to equal if using MFP as designed. Or is your "budget" for the day that you want to balance Food is "spent" calories or calories used towards your budget... exercise is "income / earned" calories credited towards your daily allowance Food-exercise = net where you want the net to total what your goal is for the day. You can test it yourself that MFP doesn't include your "planned" exercise in your daily calories my home > settings > update diet/ fitness profile. Set 0 minutes of planned exercise, save and view your daily calorie goal now set something crazy like 3600 minutes of planned exercise. Save and view your identical calorie goal. MFP doesn't "factor' in your exercise calories until you 'DO" the exercise and log it as complete by putting it in your exercise diary. That's 'how' you earn extra calories to eat when using MFP as designed.
