Problem:
when planning my daily meals, sometimes I'll end up with an imbalance of nutrition, namely, I'll have calories that I need to use up, but I may be high on values for one category or another.
Example: in my journal today, I've entered in all my food and the tally says I've got 700 calories left, 100 carbs left, No sugars or protein left.

Possible solution:
a feature that can recommend food from the database that will fit a particular nutrition profile.
Example: using the case above, it would be useful to have a list of foods that have 100-200 calories, 50-100g carbs, 0-1g sugars, 0-5g protein. Any other nutrients could also be specified to help limit the list. Fields to refine search: Ingredients, name, fruit/veg/meat/etc and anything else that might be typical of a food search (foods previously eaten. Foods rarely eaten. ETC.)

how does your fat line up for the day? 100 gram of carbs left is only 400 calories worth of "room" with what you've said.

I'm not sure that MFP will "ever" suggest foods as that moves from the realm of being a "LOG or journal" where you can track what you have eaten / plan to eat / will eat per your habits to giving "medical / lifestyle advice" which with all the sensitivities / allergies to various foods... well you can see the problem with suggesting say peanuts to someone with a nut allergy... wheat etc to someone with gluten intolerance and so on.
