modern webapps expose APIs. Open that baby up and good things will happen. An ecosystem of companion apps will emerge, making your user base more loyal.

I'd like to say "+1" as well.
I want to be able to post activities and link together websites. i.e. Garmin Connect -> MFP

MFP seems to have by far the best Food data available, and they post into Fitbit automagically, which I also use. Fitbit post the footstep, sleep and calories earnt data back to MFP, so *some* APIs must exist.

All the Athlete training apps I use also have food diary tracking capability but lousy food databases.

I'm already working on an app to push Garmin Communicator logs into Athelete apps that do provide APIs, and I can also do this for FitBit, as they also provide an extensive API.

MFP is really the missing link here.

I would also like an API I can use to enter and retrieve my data.

Totally agree. At least to insert Nutrition facts there that i Already have in some others apps that allows exporting data, ...i have an excel sheet with all the foods I normally cook at home and it is a "pain in ..." to enter one by one in the App

I'd also really like this API.

Another call for a public API. I'd like to run a daily script to synchronise my movement data from Moves App ( using their (public!) API with MyFitnessPal. Is anybody listening?

I would like an open API to the food database so I can create a competing site
