When my walking speed gets above about 3.5mph I start to get a crampy pain in the top of my good foot. I say my good foot because my other foot is all messed up from a ankle/talus fracture...I expect that one to hurt.
I wonder if my current wieght is causing too much impact...especially when waking down hills. Does anyone have a super-good, well cushioned walking shoe they can recommend?
Thanks.

Visit a running / shoe store, and get fitted for a quality pair of walking shoes.
Try some good in soles (orange super-feet are great) Maybe try some flexing / mobility exercises on your feet when you are just sitting around. If the pain subsides and doesn't persist after your workout I would say keep at it, and it will probably get better with time

It could be as simple as your lacing. Try an alternative lacing method to remove some of the pressure from that part of the shoe.
