This sight would be absolutle perfect for me if only it would calculate NET Carbs as well as carbs, the Atkins diet uses net carbs which gives you a large range of food choices, currently I al making the adjustments I need in the Note section but if the sight would minus out the fiber and the sugar alchols from the fiber count it would be imensly helpful just making a suggestion.

You net should be posted right on the page you log into. MFP adds it different than others.

You can make your own custom entries for foods. Do this for foods you eat most often. The site is reliant on user supplied entries to populate the database.

Right on my home is your "net calories" for the 'MFP calculates it different'
net calories for the day aren't net carbs, which are something like carbs for the day minus fiber intake for the day to net your carbs.
Adding a column for tracking for 'net carbs' that those of us who just want to track carbs don't have to use would be peachy.

I would like to see a Net Carbs section too. As a diabetic, I would find this feature to be quite useful.

I can't believe there isn't an option for NET CARBS, please add this soon.

I totally agree. I am doing a low carb diet and its hard to get the system to reflect that. I think this site should more or less figure out what diets have what specifications and let us pick our diets according. EX: low carb/diabetic, high protein. low fat, vegan, etc and then we could just tweek our individual diets.

I would like this too. Making custom "net carb" entries for every food is insanity. Also agree with the previous poster that there should be a way to specify that you're watching carbs and not have the whole thing only focus on calories.

I didn't see this thread when I posted "Fibre / fiber in the EU and US" but the two are related.

Food labelling in the US appears to use total carbs and food labelling in the EU appears to use net carbs and lists fibre separately. MPF seems to be set up for US food labels.

So I agree, it would be nice if MFP did calculate net carbs, or even gave an option to enter net carbs instead of total carbs and keep fibre separate when inputting foods (for users based in the EU, at least).

Net carbs would be a great addition and help anyone who is diabetic to use the site more effectively. It's difficult to track actual glycemic index effective carb intake and if you eat a lot of fiber, your carb totals can be a little scary looking. Please make this addition soon!

Net carbs would be very useful as I am Type II. I also have PCOS so I need to limit my carbs more to feel better. Is there a way to adjust the automatically generated total carbs allowance for the day? I know the number I am shooting for per day so I mentally keep under this amount but it is really tempting to go over "my total" since it would still be green and look OK. Thank you so much!

I completely agree with you. Net carbs are Carbs minus the non-soluble fiber and this can be a HUGE difference in carb intake. The fact that the site does not show that, is very bothersome.
As a diabetic, watching carbs is more important than calories, and knowing net carbs is more important than knowing gross carbs.

no, it only calculates total carbs, which is not accurate if it does not calculate non-soluble fiber. The net shown is basically the total carbs or gross, not the net we are referring to which is Total carbs minus fibre.
