Hey why doesnt lifting calculate calories burned? Am I doing something wrong?

exercise > CARDIO > add exercise > search "strength training" if you have to enter a minutes performed for the activity then you're in the right spot to get a calorie burn

exercise > Strength > add exercise > enter weight / sets / reps is for tracking your progress in strength gains over time

Yeah I did find that but for example Monday I did 9 sets of Bench Press all above 225lb, and abs in 30 minutes. It counted 149 calories, it counts more for me walking on a treadmill for 20 minutes. Seems crazy to me.

Many of us who own heart rate monitors have found the MFP gives a very high estimate of calories burned for cardio activities. A HRM won't be real accurate for weight lifting activities, but if you're interested in knowing your cardio burn it may be worth investing in one. Be sure to choose one with a chest strap.
