So, a recent even has motivated me to finally make the changes I've been wanting to make since I got married. I used to wear a pant size 1 before I gained the weight. At my heaviest I was pushing a 7. For a lot of people that is thin and I shouldn't worry. Thing is, they don't know my body. I have not felt like myself for a long time. It hurt to know I was wearing a size 5 and it was starting to get too tight. I always had a belly. And my arms and legs were thin, so it looked even more awkward.

I went from barely weighing 105 lbs to weighing in at about 126 lbs. Which would not be a big deal, if I were fit and this was muscle weight. But, it wasn't. It was tummy bulge. It was back fat. It was muffin top. My skin started giving signs of cottage cheese. And when I would put the fat together it took the disgusting shape of a bagel.

SICK. I was sick of it. I thank my cousin for getting married. Because once I saw that invite, I was determined to start sooner. I didn't want to wait for the New Year. Those resolutions end up in the garbage after a few short weeks. I began about 10 days ago. I exercised one day and got sick, so I had to stop for awhile. But, I did not let that excuse me into temptation.

I cut breads out of my diet. Increased water and healthy lean protein. My main source has been fish and protein shakes. I also increased my veggie and fruit intake significantly. Eating everything from squash, kale, tomato, romaine lettuce, carrots, peppers, avocado, oranges, apples, cherries, just to name a few.

Signs so far: I've lost about 7 lbs. My skirts and pants are fitting a little big. My tummy bulge has decreased. AND I look YOUNGER. That was a little surprise my husband pointed out actually. :)

Cravings are far few and in between. I feel motivated and excited. It feels good to start feeling like me again.

The whole point of this is that I am not going to go back to my evil ways of excess eating and no exercise. I am not dieting. I am living my life. This is a lifestyle I have chosen. HEALTHY.

I don't want to be skinny. I want to be FIT. I don't want to be frail. I want to be STRONG.

Good for you! Same here. I have done the extreme dieting and then I'll go back to my old habits. Going to do this thing right!
