I would really like to see some advanced search options, particularly the ability to search only official entries and to search for entries by unit of measurement (like for instance sugar by the cup for when baking or fish by ounces or grams instead of just filet). It would be great if that was available on the app to, but for the app if at least you could see which ones were the official version (unless I'm missing something) on the website there is at least the asterisk which shows the entries that are user added, but on the app it is very difficult to determine.

I would also like to see this. It would be fantastic to be able to see the official entries separately or AT LEAST on top of the user entered ones. It would also be a lot better if we could see which ones were official when using the apps; For this reason, I usually don't enter items I don't have saved in my recent list when using my phone because they could say anything.

Agreed- I would be happy if the search results came back with only my entries and 'official' entries, or at least they were at the top of the list.
Not to mention, I'm sure your developers put a ton of work in to creating the 'official' entries. It's a shame that they're getting lost in the shuffle with 99 million lazy entries with incorrect data. I don't even think most users realize the 'official' entries exist.

Absolutely agree with this. I have been using MFP for almost a year now. There are times where I eat something maybe once a month, and I know I had already found the item in the food database, and all I want to do copy the same item from a month ago to the current days log. There needs to be an option just to search only my foods that I have eaten and logged into MFP.
And at the least , those foods that I had eaten on the previous day, should be at the top of the list, when I go to search for only "my" foods |

With the last one you should be able to achieve your "foods eaten the previous day at the top of the list"
by sorting your list by "default" which is most recently logged item would be on the top of the list, second most recent item is second instead of "by name" the toggle for that is over the recipes tab that you can click when adding to your food diary And if you want to search only your logged foods to find something you know you've used you could always use food > food diary bottom left corner is "view full report (printable)" click that, pick a date range such as 6 weeks or 4 if you're "sure" you had the item in the last month. search for the item you had a month ago to find out which day it's on then you could change to that day on the food diary and tell it to copy to today... might not be optimal if you had say salmon as part of a bigger platter and you're ONLY having the salmon this time but you know you're using the salmon you previously decided to use to log

Search has definitely improved on the app, as now when I start typing it in starts pulling up things on my lists first. But still wish that I could see the asterisk on the app.
