I would like to see 'Net Carbs' added to the nutrition reports since this is what some low carb or carb cycling dieters follow. Thank you!

I agree completely, allen4mlbj!

If not that, it would be nice to see a category for sugar alcohols so we can subtract that & fiber from the total carb number.

I agree about the net carbs. Not hard to figure out, obviously, but every little savings in time and effort helps.

Either a NET CARB field, or the possibility of customizing a field to enter our own calculations (yes, I'm a data geek). :p

I would love a net carb field, just so there aren't separate net carb foods in the list. The MFP food db needs so tender love and care. I too am a data geek, and nothing irks me more then a messy, unreliable db of data.

Are their plans in the works to fix foods, have verified versions, and allow recipe sharing? It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to enter 10 ingredients on my phone, and then turn around and do it on my wife's as well, because I can't just share the recipe, or *invite her for dinner*.

you CAN "invite her for dinner" via the iPhone, iPad, Android or since Nov 14th even via the website...
enter the "meal" in your diary or enter it as a recipe and log a serving in your diary...
if you log the "10 ingredients" as you said in your food diary she simply needs to view your shared food diary and click the wrench / spanner in the same header as the meal name (app) or click quicktools (website) and copy to her own diary...
if you log the "recipe" she'll just be copying the nutritional info of a serving per the recipe you entered, so if she eats less of 1 of the 10 items it won't be 100% accurate but if it's something like a meat-loaf where the whole loaf should have a good mix of the ingredients it'll be as close as you'll get.

This extension adds a net carbs column to the diary:


Remember this script REQUIRES the following columns: Fat, Protein, Carbs, Fiber!
Chrome: Chrome stopped allowing scripts installed outside of their webstore. Here's two options to install them in Chrome:
Install Tampermonkey and install the script as normal.
Another option is to download the script to your PC locally using Save As. Then open "chrome://chrome/extensions" and drag and drop the .js file on Chrome. Here is a more detailed description of this method
Firefox: Install Greasemonkey, then click install.
Internet Explorer: Install Trixie,, though I have not tested it on IE, it should work.

OMG... Thank ye! I log them as recipes since we remake some of them.... So is better then to log them separately as foods in the diary so that more data is kept once she transfers the meal? This lessens the pain, but sharing recipes should be a no brainer, esp without clogging up 'recipe central' to do it.

Go to the 'daily' tab at the top of the app screen inbetween summary and weekly and the "total so far", "goal" and "left to go" carbs plus others are listed....easy parcheesi. I don't know how they calculate the goal for carbs, protein, ect., its always best to do your own research on what is best for your weight goal needs I say. It says goal carbs a day for me is 167 but I know I should be at 100 per day for weight loss. Enjoy.

Yes please a net carbs column would be great.
Actually a few extra columns would be really helpful.

My daughter calculates my net carbs for me every day and screams at me if my net carbs are below 1000. I never see them. When I exercise a lot my daily calorie goal goes up and I eat a little more but since the net carbs are not part of the daily chart I have been ignoring them when my daughter brought my attention to them I find that my net carbs are in the 400-600 range. It would make it much easier if they were displayed. It would keep my daughter off my back. LOL
