Can we add a feature to share recipes and meals with fitness pal friends? My husband and I are doing fitness pal together and we each have to enter the same thing in our profiles. It would be a lot nicer if we could share. I would also like to share recipes with my friends. I think it would help us support each other more in our weight loss adventures.

Thanks for your consideration.

Much Aloha,
Carrie :)

If you or husband are using the iPhone iPad or Android app then use that app to view the diary of the person who has a serving of the recipe logged into their food diary. Click the wrench / spanner near the calories for the meal / in the same header as the meal name and copy to the other diary. Your friends that are using those apps can also copy from your diary if you have it at least shared with friends.
It doesn't copy the recipe itself but does copy the nutritional info without having to enter the entire recipe twice.

If not using those apps you may find it easier to create the recipe once, then create a new FOOD to the database using the nutritional info of a serving of the recipe Share that new food with the database and your friends can search for that to add to their own diary. Again getting the nutritional info in their diary, not the "recipe" itself.

Recipe sharing is something they've "mentioned" as being something they want to bring us but no timeline for when we can expect it.

Well that was "fast"

as per

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/796870-copying-meals-from-friends-now-available-on-the-site

you can now copy meals from friends who have a shared diary on the website.. BUT unless your meals match exactly you'll have to copy in 2 or more steps. As in I copied from a friends dinner tonight we ate the same thing, only way i've been able to add food in a couple days, but since i'm using the default 4 meal slots and they are using all 6 available when I copied it says it copied but nothing is in my diary.
Just confirmed via my own testing the "meal" was blank when I added the slot to my account but when I then clicked copy to today from the friends diary it copied over fine. Now to get it into dinner I have to edit each line item and move them to the slot that contains MY dinner but you can copy from a friends food diary now.
