Hello,
Anyone with a fitbit one tried the silent alarm yet? I ordered mine from Brookstone and used it for a couple days, everything was fine. then I decided to try out the silent alarm. you set it through the fitbit site online and it tells you to update the firmware on the fitbit. i did that and it then let me set the alarm, however, when the alarm goes off all it does is blink the time on the fitbit screen, no vibration. I thought i did something wrong so I checked all the settings again, made sure the update had worked ect but again, the time flashes with the bell icon but no vibrate.

I wrote brookstone telling them what was going on but i don't know if they'll let me return it since i no longer have the original box. very annoying. no the alarm isn't a big deal, i really don't need an alarm we have been waking up at 5am everyday for the last 7 years and we now just naturally wake up at that time on our own, however, it's a matter of principle and getting all the features I paid for.

This is interesting. I just got my One last night and I did set the silent alarm, but the fitbit fell out of the wrist strap while I was asleep so I never felt the alarm go off. I'm going to try again tonight and see how it goes. and I'm going to clip it on me tonight instead of using that wist strap.
I'd contact Fitbit support and see if they could work out a replacement if you think it's defective. I heard they have good customer service.

Are you putting it in like they show in the pictures? I put mine in so it's side ways so it's all in, not "clipped" in like the picture shows (I have the ultra but I figure it's the same wrist band idea?)

They do have good customer service, I'd suggest contacting them as well.

The store I bought it from is going to do a free shipping exchange for me which is great but I'll miss it over the next couple days till I get the replacement!!

I'm about to package up the box to send back and thought I would try it one more time so I set an alarm to go off in 2 minutes, sync'ed and sure enough 2 mintues later the screen on the fitbit lit up saying the time and flashing the alarm icon but no vibrate. Not even a tiny vibrate, no movement at all. I even set it down on my desk to see if I would be able to hear or see a rattle of any kind but nothing. Then I picked it up and held it to my ear and I could ear this popping/beep sound but it's only audible if you hold it to your ear, much like the tick of a wrist watch. So I am 100% certain something is malfunctioning, it's trying to vibrate but i guess it's vibrator is broken (don't ya hate that ;)

Off it goes back to the store :(

Did you ever get it figured out? My fitbit one i got for christmas will not vibrate either. I don't know if it is defective. I would return it if i though that is all it was.

When it vibrates it you will definitely know it. I leave mine in the case clipped onto the arm sleeve at nite. Wakes me every morning. drinker
