How does it work? I've successfully linked (it says) but I don't see how a workout gets transmitted over. Also, I have runtastic mountainbike as well and that's the app I use daily, so does it sync?

Other requests for linking:

I don't know "how" but I linked mine and just went for a walk to test it out and it worked! Pretty excited... saves an extra step. Love Runtastic and of course, MFP and now the two work together. Hope it works for you!

Hi,

Once you have created a runtastic account at runtastic.com, or via one of their mobile apps, log in to MyFitnessPal and go to the following page: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/show/2 and click "Link Accounts"

You will be taken to a page at runtastic.com where you can authorize the connection between your MyFitnessPal account and your runtastic account. (If you are not already logged in at runtastic.com, you will need to log in before you can complete the authorization).

You can use the runtastic app while out exercising; as you finish your exercise and hit stop, that exercise will be uploaded to runtastic and MyFitnessPal. You should see text on your newsfeed that says something like: "Bob burned 383 calories doing 114 minutes of "Walking, 2.0 mph, slow pace" runtastic".

I'm with you. Followed the instructions (both on the phone and on the web app). Both say I'm connected to Runtastic, but at the completion of a test actiivity... nothing.

Waiting for mine to sync too

I was wondering if the road bike app would sync. Anyone get it to work yet?

i'm using the roadbike app myself...perhaps that's the problem? not sure though as i was able to link MFP to it successfully.

My workouts are showing up in my exercise diary, but not my newsfeed. I checked my setting for the newsfeed and it shows that I have checked the option to have exercise show. It used to show prior to using runtastic

I have the same issue. I love that the app now automatically syncs, but don't like that it doesn't post in my newsfeed as I need that to help me be accountable. It's the same as when I add exercise and/or weight-loss via the app (both only show in the newsfeed if I add via the website). Is there a plan to change this?

Thanks for the detailed reply, but unfortunately it didn't quite work for me. I have successfully linked runtastic to MFP as you mentioned. I think I have two issues/concerns:

1) I use "runtastic MountainBike" app and it's not linked? Runtastic has a whole line of apps, and it would be nice to know specifically which apps are working.

2) I also have "runtastic PRO" but don't see how to manually send the data. For instance, in the "Share" menu in the runtastic app, the options are for FaceBook, Twitter, or Email. Will they be adding a new option for MFP within their apps themselves? Or will there be a setting within their app? What if we want to send a workout manually using the share functionality?

Apps that currently work:

runtastic - app-to-app (in Settings - Connect MyFitnessPal)
runtastic PRO - app-to-app (in Settings - Connect MyFitnessPal)
Pedometer - via Settings on runtastic.com
Pedometer PRO - via Settings on runtastic.com

The PRO app was updated yesterday so please make sure you have the latest version so you can link this.

No the bike apps do not link yet, just runtastic and runtastic pedometer.

Same. Nothing from Runtastic is syncing to MyFitnessPal. Everything says connected, linked, synced and ready for take-off... But nothing is happening...

Same here. Using Runtasic Pro. Says linked/connected. Nothing. Updated app yesterday too.

Same here I have the Runtastic Pedometer and it's not sending the info :(

I'm using Runtastic for Windows Phone and my data is not being sent to MFP even though I've successfully linked the two accounts. :(

I updated Runtastic Pro on my iPhone this morning. Disconnected and reconnected Runtastic to MyFitnesspal and tried a quick test walk on Runtastic.

I had to re-upload my workout from my phone after linking the accounts, then it finally updated MFP. Tricky little bugger!

I just did that and it worked. Funny how it doesn't tell you to do that.

I've linked and unlinked several times and nothing is logging. The runtasitc app says it's connected and MFP website does as well. Obviously something isn't working right because it shouldn't be this hard.

Ditto on the syncing issues. I've updated the Runtastic iPhone app, resynced the sessions, and still nothing on MFP. Like others, I mainly use Runkeeper and was trying out Runtastic due to the auto-sync. Looks like I'm going back to Runkeeper & manual updates instead.

Just unsynced them and tried to resync them and it says "The service is currently not available (maintenance). Please try again later."

Hopefully it'll be fixed when they're done with it!

Mine synced with both Runtastic and Endomondo - I've not changed a thing - now it doesn't sync...
October 22, 2012 7:56 AM
Can anyone confirm if syncing with Endomondo works? We are starting to see replies from Runtastic employees on their site's message board but they sound like they are still feeling out the cause of it.

If Endomondo isn't working, maybe we should start contacting MFP to see if it is an issue on their end.
