I love this site. However, I wish I could access previously entered items for a different meal. (i.e. I may eat a banana for breakfast, lunch or dinner and have to enter it each time.

Thanks - keep up the awesome site!

I ran into this as well. One trick I found is if you want to use an item from your "lunch" foods in your "dinner" area... I add it to lunch, then when you are back in your food diary you can click on the food and move it to another meal such as dinner, breakfast or snack. Hope this helps!

I agree that would be nice! I seem to loss food items as well! I will enter them one week and they will be gone the next?? I re-enter them.

Totally agree! I have certain things that I eat at random times through the day and it would be awome to only have to enter it only one time!

yes it should be just one big database 'my meals' - i hate having to go back and forth and add my chicken again to breakfast or lunch or whatever - and Im also loosing some of my foods after I search and add them to a meal - poof they're gone the next time?

The My Meals tab is really no help as I have no clue whats in them even though i try and title it so i do know, i dont.

So ya bottom line make all my foods selectable to any meal.

Really enjoy this site and its helped so much with my weight loss and weight management. Keep up the excellant work! thank you.

Totally agree - this has been bugging me for a while now ! I often cook a little extra at supper so I can have leftovers for lunch the next day and I have to enter the food all over again ... it's pretty annoying.

Not sure if you all read my reply... but I found away around this problem.... it still takes a little time, but not as much as re-adding the food. Here is my example:

If you made spaghetti for dinner, and you want to take left overs to lunch.

As we all know, your noodles, sauce, ect... will be in your dinner foods, go ahead and add them to your dinner- yes even though you are taken them for lunch- keep reading:)

Then once the foods are in your food diary, you can click on them.... you then have the option to switch the amounts and what meal/snack they are for. So then you can switch them from your dinner to your lunch!

Hope this helps!

I completely agree with this suggestion - its one of the most infuriating bugs of the site. The list of 'my food' is never complete and fragmented over which meal the food has previously been consumed in. Worse than that, searching for food that I've previously added returns no results!

The only work around is the one mentioned already in this thread, but that's a hassle because I often can't remember which meal I've entered some food under, and I have to trial and error across 6 meal fields! And since I mostly use the iphone app, I have to enter it on iphone, then log into the webpage to change the meals around (iphone app doesn't support switching meals).

Fixing this would be a major improvement to the site.

This trick would be beneficial if it "Copied" the entry vs. "Moving" it from lunch and adding it the the dinner meal. Should have a choice of "Copy" or "Move" to a particular selected meal.

Since the thread was brought up...

Pick your platform

Website
food > food diary > pick a meal
on the "add food to (meal selected) page there is a search box and RIGHT below it
"or add favorites for (meal selected)
click that (meal selected) and change to the only other option "all meals"

That sort of helps, but what we really need...what I would find quite useful anyway...would be "My Pantry"...so I can scan in all my groceries at once, then just have those in a list to choose from when I'm logging a meal or making a recipe. THAT would make my life easier! I would use "My Foods" but you can't scan things into that category. Arrgghh.

"My Pantry" sounds like such a neat and handy tool!!! Sometimes barcodes dont scan though, like if there is a glare or if the barode is crnkled. This would be cool if we had the option to type in the bar code as well.

Would it be a good idea to have a search option for our own foods, not just for the main data base. I too, keep losing my food items especially if I have not used them for a while.

I put these under recipies, that way I can quickly add to whatever meal I've eaten. Night shift worker so make big pots of things and have them at varies times throughout the next few days. (ie dinner one day, breakfast the next)

You can adjust your settings so that it does this, select "Show favourites for all meals".

My pantry is called My Foods. There is also My Meals, and Recipes.

Enter all your meals as "new recipe" in the recipe section, and any extra portion/serving will be available for your next meal. The only problem is that this database doesn't allow us to edit recipes. we need to enter the items all over again if we need to change the amount.

I agree the option to copy meals to different times would be a great benifit to the site usability. I often have what I had for dinner for lunch the next day (or even breakfast!) - but don't want to adding this as a meal. I don't eat the same things often enough to remember them as a meal.

The copy to the next day and then editing to a different section would work but be made alot quicker if we also had multi-select on our food items - at the moment we have to edit individually.
