Hi, so my profile ticker doesn't say that I have lost any weight. Except I keep logging in my decreasing weight. Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks!

Hmm, when you update your weight, are you entering it into "todays weight" under check-in, or are you changing your starting weight?

The ticker is a simple tool. It compares only 2 numbers period. Starting weight, which is the first weight by calendar date you have entered into MFP... and the current weight, the weigh in you JUST entered...

so if you started at 150 gained to 160 and lost to 151... you've lost 9 lbs but when you compare 151 to your start of 150 you're 1 lb heavier so there isn't a loss to report.
if you started at 160 gained to 165 and lost to 155... lost 10 lbs right? but comparing 155 to the start of 160 you're down 5 lbs so that's what it reports.

Both are fixed by my home > check in > edit previous entries
you can either delete all the prior weight entries leaving you starting with your "new high" or you can backdate the day, week, month...whatever timeframe prior to your actual original weigh in and enter your new high there, which would then preserve your weight record for graphing purposes etc.

The "newsfeed" of "user X has lost 5lbs, user has lost 1lb so far.." message you sometimes see doesn't "appear" to make much sense... how do you lose 1lb so far when you've lost 5 lbs? That's using a different number for the first part... it even says "since the last weigh in" so if you started MFP at 150 weighed in last week at 154 and this week at 149...still with me?...
the "has lost 5 lbs since last weigh in" is accurate as it compares the 2 most recent weigh ins... 154 and 149... but the 1lb so far is compared to where you started... 150.. which 149 coming from gives you 1lb so far.

I've had similar problems with the updates not appearing in the news feed however only when updating from my iPhone or iPad. If updated on the website it all works well.
