Great motivator however i am a bit confused,i lift weights and do cardio,i am packing on lean muscle,which weighs more then fat,if anything my weight would decrease very minimal,do you people lift weights?you and i both know if you hit the weights hard the scale will change very little,but you will look better..how do many of you overcome this mental hurdle?

Count me in! I know I lose weight slowly and I "plateau" easily so 20 pounds would be awesme but even if I lost 10 by NYE I would still be happy. I need a challenge like this to hold me accountable!

Thank you everyone for joining this challenge. It looks like a lot of us want to start 2013 in a fitter body and begin the year with a sense of accomplishment. We will start the year with confidence and with good habits that start now! This group was originally created on Monday, October 8. This past Monday was really week two, so the people who started it on Monday October 8 need to come back and record their weights! I just don't want anyone to be deceived, we now have 11 weeks until new years!

And, my NYGW is my UGW (Ultimate Goal Weight). Last weigh-in was 117 lbs. Heaviest 230 lbs, I had gotten to 112 lbs and gained some back. I want to stay at 107.5 forever unless I'm baking something in the oven :)

I lift weights. It's possible to lift weights, gain muscle, and lose lbs, because you lose body fat.

5'4".

I have my first Half Ironman this Saturday (I'm a triathlete), then a week of no exercise (or whatever my coach gives me, but I won't be burning much), then I have 9 weeks until the end of the year.
