TOPIC: Recipe directions when we save a recipe.

October 05, 2012 20:09
It would be very helpful if we had a little text box where we could save recipe directions or info (such as what a serving size actually is) instead of just ingredients for a recipe. That way I wouldn't have to keep bookmarking every single recipe I want to keep in my browser so I don't forget how to actually make it. It would all be stored under my recipe tabs in my food section.

This is available if you choose to submit the recipe to the MFP database.

Edit to note... maybe I'm wrong... I've never submitted a recipe, and looking closer it isn't clear if the directions for the recipe will stay with it once you write them up....

It doesn't explicitly say that the instructions will or won't be included but they're a pretty vital addition IE my pretzel recipe includes 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of water used to brush the pretzels in to get the shine / make toppings stick. But if the instructions were absent someone could mistakenly add them to the dough and mix it up... trust me... it gets super salty and inedible when you make that mistake... So the instructions along with the second listing of ingredients SHOULD stick with it when you post it, but right now it's not being posted anywhere but your "my recipes"
