Seriously....lose 20 pounds in 4 months....gain 10....lose 5.....gain 15.....
I go from super motivated and feeling like getting healthy is so easy and important for 1 - 4 months and I'll drop 20 pounds or so and feel great. Then I'll slowly slip back into bad habits and COMPLETELY fall of the wagon....I'm talking fatty pizzas, burgers, liquor , ANYTHING fried and chocolate. I'll gain like 10 pounds and then be like oh well...my husband and friends love me the way I am, what does it matter?? And then I'll realize I let myself go and want to get back into it.
WASH. RINSE. REPEAT!!! UGH

Anyone else relate??

This describes me to a T. Often it's some kind of set back (sometimes real, sometimes imagined) that stops me and turns my behaviour around. For example, most reccently, a knee injury that I was told by a physio not to run on so instead of finding an alternate and keeping going I stopped exercising all together and started eating whatever crap I wanted. It's definitely a mental thing, for some reason I have an all or nothing approach and whenever I get close to what I want then I find some reason to give up.

I can totally relate. I think the reason I am the weight I am (or was when I started) is because every weight loss attempt in the past has been cut short my my resolve of "well, I'm not thaaaaaaat fat" or actually being so encouraged by the results that I give up (ha!).
I find looking at awkward candid photos helps. The people around me still love me, but... do I really want to look like that? Nope.
For some reason my resolve this time around is sort of sticking. I find the everything in moderation approach really helpful (cheat meals, or picking whatever I want when I'm out, but lots of home cooking, veggies and packing healthy lunches.
Good luck!

Yes for me to. Whilst I am being 'good', I am very disciplined and eat only healthy foods and sensible portions. However once the floodgates open, then I am back to huge amounts and high fat food and I gain weight. Each time I say to myself this time, no going back, no more gaining weight I have worked so hard to lose. But, time before this I lost 42 lbs only to regain 31. I have lost 40 but I have been on 2 week holiday and eaten everything! So am desperately hoping I can get back on track on Monday.

I can lose but maintaining to date has been beyond me, but it is never too late to learn. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again

Good luck

I know exactly how you feel. I've been a yoyo dieter for about 25 years and keep telling myself 'Right come on you can do it this time' and for a short time i'm good at it, i eat well and exersise more and then just when i start getting comlipments from people it all goes to pot and i start sneaking in little treats that turn into a whole bag of treats. Perhaps today is the day when it all falls into place and i lose the 50lbs that has been hanging around with me for years. Good luck with your success.

It is definitely me... I have vowed that this ends this go around.... the last time I lost weight, I lost 80+ lbs, only to gain +100 back.... STOPPING THE CYCLE NOW! =)
