TOPIC: Search option for food previously chosen

Since I eat a lot of unpackaged/unprocessed foods, sometimes meals can be 5 or more items.. In no time my "Recent food" items list only shows a few days worth of food. When I look some item (say pork barbecue) and can't find it on my "most used" or "recent" tabs, I have to search for it again; evaluate all of the nutritional facts again; look at number confirmations again etc...

I request that an additional filter option be provided so that I can search for "chicken", for example, and only search for it from the items I have already used at least once in a meal. That way when I go through the time effort of carefully choosing the chicken item that I like and agree with the nutritional facts, I can repeatedly use it again and again, even if it is weeks between usage.

You can achieve this roughly via
food > food diary > view full report (printable) in the bottom left corner of the food diary

Run a report for up to a 1 year period, search that for your "pork barbecue" to find out when you last used it, then you can go to that day in your actual food diary and click quick tools copy to today.

Not pretty but it does make sure you're picking from things you yourself have previously logged.

I've dealt with this by creating recipes for things that have consistent ingredients. For example, a generic 'salad' can have any of tomato, cuke, three kinds of lettuce, carrots.. whatever looks good at the market, and so not amenable to this. But cauliflower salad is a specific thing with the same ingredients in at least the attempted same proportions, so it works to make a recipe. I've done similar with the particular way I make tuna salad, egg salad, coffee, tea, common breakfasts...
