Sorry if you can do this and I'm being dumb, but it would be helpful if you could copy food stuff that you eat say for lunch on Monday but then have it for dinner on Friday. The only way I can see of doing this is to search for it again. Once you have found it and it is in a list (breakfast, lunch etc.) you should be able to see the food stuff an then say what meal you want it to go in to. Again sorry if I’m being dumb and you can already do this, but I cannot find a way on the web or app.angry

One workaround (on web) is to copy it to the date you want, then click on the diary entry to bring up the edit window.

You can then change the meal it's in, simple if it's only a couple of items but gets a bit tedious for something complicated.

was just thinking the same... that being able to copy foods from previous days or meals just as you can copy whole meals now would be fab.

NOT DUMB!! ONLY copy foods if days allow!!!

Or just create it as a recipe. So, lets say everyday for lunch you have (hypothetical here) a tuna salad with x, y and z with an apple, a packet of grapes and a banana. Pop that into a recipe as "lunch- tuna salad plus fruit" and there you go- free to pop it in as many times as you like easily.

Don't forget, you can also edit your lunch recipe without changing any values you've put into your diary with them previously, so lets say you decided to switch it up and have a chicken salad this week: you could edit the recipe and still have last weeks data entry intact.

I would really like to be able to copy from dinner on one day to lunch for the next - leftovers!

well.. you can copy dinner from yesterday to today and then go through the list and change dinner to lunch for each item. still faster than adding everything all over again, imho.

Or instead of the "make a recipe" option how about going to dinner last night, click quick tools > click remember meal > give it a name that tells you what it is, now go to todays lunch, click add food, click to the my foods tab in the columns of "most used > recent > my meals > recipes" and pick that newly saved "my meal"
advantage there is while you saved it with 5 ingredients at whatever amount you can edit the quantity of each ingredient or totally delete the line that there aren't leftovers for.

Or you can change the function of your food lists (default is items logged in a meal slot ONLY appear in that meal slot until you've added it again for a different slot) but you can change it so that dinner items will show in your recent list for lunch, or snack items for breakfast etc. If you sort it by "default" then your last food item logged "should" be the first item showing on the list, or you can sort it alphabetically which is now applied across the 4 pages of the foods shown instead of being alphabetical per page.

Thank you for the info, I was trying to work out how to use my dinner entry for my lunch, I just love leftovers as well. Clicking Remember Meal then naming it, and then using the meal for lunch was so easy.love

I usually just save the meal then when I go to log it the next day I click on meal and find the saved meal from the day before.

I often cook same thing with little variations, different ingredients' quantities, etc, so it would be helpful to be able to save/copy recipes as we do with meals, to quickly adjust them as needed.
or maybe there is already a way to do this, let me know.
or maybe I could just stick to my recipes as I enter them.... no, not gonna happen )))

and why is it that in recipes, you cannot edit an ingredient once entered, but can only delete and start over?

These workarounds are good suggestions but I'd still like to see a copy to / copy from submenu feature so I can select a date and meal to copy to a different meal eg dinner from Monday to Lunch on Wednesday
