I just got the wifi scale, I do not have any of their calorie monitoring devices but FitBit is subtracting about 1/3 of my cardio calories..what is going on?

Welcome to the thread. There is plenty of good reading here and in other FitBit Mal-Adjustment threads. Basically it is a known software bug that MyFitnessPal is considering a work around for.

Hi guys I'm new to the group. I just got my fitbit one today & for some reason it is turning my exercise points that it says I burned into calories??!!!! My net calories shows the total of what I've eaten plus what I've burned. (instead of subtracting it) What did I do wrong?? I have not logged anything on FB, just on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated & sorry if this has been gone over before, I didn't see it flowerforyou

I've been having issues with double calories if I enter the exercise in MFP. I've stopped entering anything in MFP and just let the fitbit give me an adjustment (which is still too high, but far closer to what ought to be accurate).

New to FitBit and MFP, and this is confusing. MFP tells me I have 1700 calories for the day. I have not eaten at all, therefore no foods logged for the day. I did a 15-minute yoga session, and MFP tells me I have a net of 30, presumably based on "+30" from exercise. So why do I now have only 1670 calories remaining?
The more I read this thread the more baffled I become. So is this how it works: MFP predicts my calorie burn rate, and it alerts by a panicked "adjustment" me if I'm not keeping up? Seriously? I'm quite capable of doing the math, but this just isn't adding up.

Today I didnt do any walking, just round the house etc but my app says 'Exercise 582' which is ridiculous, this is all from fitbit adjustment and I only did 5500 steps which would no way require 582 calories. There is no other exercise logged anywhere and these figures have been way off for days. Why is it over estimating like this.

I have been using mfp for over 2 months and I got my fitbit about 2 weeks ago and have been using it since about 11-11. I sync at night and all is fine and then the next day I sync and it screws up my previous days.. whats up with that I'm so confused!?!

Hi I have a question: how do I reconcile my calories burned between my machine, my fitness pal and fit bit? for example:

I worked out for 75 mins on my elliptal trainer:

My elliptical trainer said I burned 980 calories - there is no adjustment for weight input on my e-trainer.
My Fitness Pal said I burned 740 calories.
My FitBit said I burned 407 calories.

What is the correct calories burned? Cuz this affects my daily food intake.

Thank you so much for your assistance and I look forward to hearing.

Whew!!! reading the threads I am more confused than ever....

Got the fitbit to simplify the process.... even if i only got my total steps for the day multiplied by an activity level factor.... I would get a pretty close estimate on calories.... that, once calibrated, would be good enough.

But i am having many of the same problems others are reporting and not seeming to get solved...

Which begs the question, Does fitbit actually work with MFP without a lot of manual, daily tweaking?

If that is the case the fitbit is not a solution me (might be for others)... but would be helpful to figure that out..

Your thoughts?

FitBit ONE calorie adjustment is way too high. Today my FitBIt shows 1,212 caloreis burned for 1,451 steps and 2 floors climbed. MFP translates that to 338 calories as a FitBit adjustment. When I had theFitBit Ultra this would probably come out as 0 for a FitBit adjustment.
Any idea what's going on. It seems that my FitBIt adjustment is about double every day since using the FitBit ONE instead of the Ultra

Thank you,

I'm just as confused and getting more confused by the minute.

Fitbit adjusted my calories already this morning by the time i woke up. I have an exercise allowance from fitbit into my MFP diary now of over 100 calories. (mind you, it has not synched yet since before i came to work)

Sometimes i wake up in the AM and have steps calculated? Um, am i sleep walking?

anyway, please help. Confused :(

P.S. i am 4'11" and have a desk job, i do some walking thruout the day but is it really possible im burning this much? I took off this week from exercising and i do not even want to imagine how messed up it is going to be once i start working out again.
