I commented on a post that was made in March about this, but there hasn't been a response, so I thought I should make one of my own. I used to be able to get my workouts to post on Facebook, but I think once they switched to timeline it stopped working. I relinked it, and I was then given the option to link my status updates, which was fine, because I think my updates are pretty tame. Then I start getting FB notifications on my phone with weird comments like "Whoah! My Irish blood!" and "I think you're talking out loud to yourself." I couldn't figure out what was up, and then I ran to my computer and logged on FB to find that every post I made on my friends' profiles was posting as my FB status! There was some stuff I wouldn't have wanted anyone on FB to see, so I was pretty embarrassed, and hopefully not many people saw before I deleted the posts. Just thought you'd like to know it's still happening. I'm pretty sure it was only stuff I posted from my phone (Android). My workouts still won't post to FB, though. Thanks.

I dont have any suggestions because I dont share my workouts on FB... the only people I actually know (other than high school people and I dont actually know them now) are my relatives and the less they know the better off I am :)

I linked them for my workouts to keep me accountable to people I actually see in person. When someone posts a question on my profile, and I answer on theirs, it makes no sense to anyone but the person I was posting to. I'm glad I didn't post something really bad. What I did post was bad enough! ohwell Just don't link the status updates and you're fine. smile

I used to have a link from MFP to FB to show my weight loss - stopped working - checked the settings on MFP and FB and both okay - so something must have been disabled (but not by me).

Yikes- good to know for both Facebook & Twitter- thanks!!

Is there any way to post my fitness updates to a group of FB friends (& not all FB friends) without having your share status on FB as the specific group as a default?

I have SOME friends with whom I'd like to share (we all use MFP and could encourage each other) but I do NOT want ALL of my FB friends being updated with the info! (AT.ALL!!)

How do you make this work??
(Yes, am on timeline).

Thanks!!

I have a group of FB friends- that I met on a quit smoking website (we are successes!) and one of them created a private group on here, so that might work for you ;-)

Oooh- thanks! Did not think of private groups!!
CONGRATS on the quit smoking!
(I firmly believe that it's such an accomplishment that it deserves to be on a resume! :))

I think it has something to do with timeline on FB, because I never had a problem before with them posting. I don't think MFP gave the status update option before, but I could be wrong. When I went to re-link them, they had the workouts and weight updates separate. Before I don't think there was a way to just do one or the other. It would be nice if a mod would respond here. Maybe I should take my top off. wink

linking is a great idea but I would hope it will always be OPTIONAL - I like keeping MFP and FB separate!

I'm having the same issue. Posted on FB when it first came out with the last update just fine, but then in the last 2 weeks or so, none of my workouts are posting on FB anymore. I do it for the accountability as well. I used to do this with dailymile, but I liked that I could just use MFP to log and post workouts, so I stopped using it. I have no idea why it's not posting anymore :( I hope it gets fixed because as far as I can tell, it's not backfiring on my end.

My workouts are now posting on Facebook again, but I unlinked my status updates. Can't have the stuff I'm posting to my friends on their own walls ending up as my FB status!

That is why I never link anything. Facebook is a stalker lol
