Don't judge me...I accidently forgot my fitbit on a pair of pants and it went through the wash machine AND the dryer!! I let it sit for a few days. I plugged it in this morning and the screen just keeps flashing "FITBIT 414". Well, it started flashing that. But now it appears that some of the digital screen isn't working and I only see FITB and then the top half of the rest of it. Please tell me I'm not the only fool who has done this! And please tell me it will start working once it charges. Anyone??

Try putting it in a bag of rice (sealed) and wait a few hours... see if that will get the rest of the water out.

I think this is really your only option, but it may take days instead of hours. I know people who have saved cell phones like this and sometimes it takes as long as a week.

Good luck!

Same thing happened to me except I dropped mine in a 'bowl' of water! Aka....toilet! I tried the rice treatment and ended up getting the Fitbit 4.14 message. Wrote to Fitbit and they told me it was toast. They are sending me a new one! They really do have the BEST customer service!

I emailed the customer service this morning. Waiting to hear back. I hope they send me a new one, too! How long did it take for them to get back to you?

Less than 24 hours. I'm sure they'll come through for you!

I washed mine and it survived!

They do have great service. I had problems with stairs registering on my Ultra. They sent me another (same problem). Fortunately, the cradle on the original was the only one of the 2 cradles that worked so now I have 2 working Ultras and one working cradle.

The One is preordered so soon I'll have a Fitbit collection.

I just found mine in the dryer. Washed and dried..... and dead. I push the button and nothing happens. I'm going to try plugging it in, putting it in a bag of rice and emailing the company. So sad.

The longest it's taken to hear back (for me at least) was 3 days, then there have been some times when I get an email back early Saturday morning, so give it a few days. And I agree with putting it into rice while you wait, I've heard it can take a few days but if it can work a bit til you get a new one, it's worth it. Good luck!

Glad I am not the only one who did this!! I must have had my wheaties that morning because it was in and out of the toilet in less than a second and was perfectly fine. PHEW!

Now I ONLY wear it clipped to my bra. I am not taking any chances.

Good luck, like everyone has said, you can try rice while you wait.

My Fitbit went thru the washing machine however not the dryer. I put it in a bag of rice for 2 days. It appears to work then it tells me the battery is low. Does not seem to hold a charge any longer...really bummed!!

I found that putting mine into a bag of the silica gel cat litter worked better for drying it then the rice trick.

I did the same thing, dropped it in the toilet several months ago...I retrieved it quick and had no issues, worked fine.

This time not so lucky...it went through the wash. it is completely dead. I put it in a bag of rice and emailed the company. I really hope it starts to work or they replace it for me. So sad :(
