Is there a way that I can reset my account and start over at day one without losing all of my friends?

you can go to my home > check in > edit previous entries and delete all your past weight / measurement entries so that you "start now"

your food diary though there's no easy way to wipe that out... each meal each item line by line can be deleted....

Thanks. I did that, but is there a way to have my tracking start over at day one without having to delete my account?

Other than the food diary and weight history that Pandorian already addressed, what other tracking are you referring to?

Basically, you can't "reset" your account. You'd have to delete every individual entry for every individual day if you wanted to start fresh. You could deactivate your account and create a new one but I think it will require a new email address and user name.

I would just "check in" with your current weight and then change your starting weight on your ticker (under settings) to match. That will (essentially) reflect your progress from today and nobody will really be able to tell the difference. You could even edit your profile heading to say something like "re-start date September 2012" or whatever is applicable, if you want people to know why you have older data that doesn't match up.

Why can't you wipe the food diary? This ap is using up loads of memory on my phone and i'd like to wipe past months food entries. It would be good if you could set it to delete all entries before a certain date automatically.
Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is not a reset feature available for the program. We will definitely consider having this option available for a future update.

For now, you can either delete your account and start over (but if you do this please note all your information, including your username, will be lost and cannot be retrieved), or our recommended option is to just reset your starting date, weight and goals.

To do any of these options go to our website at www.myfitnesspal.com, sign into the members log in area using the exact same username and password as you do with the app. If you would like to delete your account go to, "my home", then "settings", then "delete account". If you would like to just update your profile, go back to "settings" then go to "update diet/fitness profile" and in this section you can update to your current information. Make sure you hit the green "update profile" button at the bottom of the page.

Also make sure you update to your current starting weight and date. To do this, while you are online, go to "My Home", then "Check-in", then "Edit Previous Entries". On that page, you can change/delete your previous starting weight and date. To delete a past date, just tap on the red circle next to the entry. Once you have saved your changes, the next time you sync the app to our website, your new starting weight will be transferred to the app.

Take care,
Rachel

Thanks for this. I wanted to know how to do this too. It's really demoralising seeing my previous weights so low and looking at my scales now :( *depressed*

I was thinking about doing this, I don't want to lose all the hard work I have out in with my recipes etc but I just want to reflect a fresh start with my weight. If I change my starting date and weight will that delete all my previous entries as I don't necessarily want that I just want my profile to reflect my weight going forward.

it won't delete your past entries, and it won't necessarily update your start weight for the ticker to calculate from, you can FORCE it to by going to my home > check in > edit previous entries and hitting the delete button beside each past weight entry.

I want to have it recalculate my calories. How do I do that? Kinda of a fresh start thing.

my home > settings > update diet / fitness profile
pick your rate of weight loss, if that is a change your macros should be reset to the MFP defaults.. and the calories that you need to lose at that rate? If it's not you can force it to recalculate at my home > goals > change goals > guided

Great. But I have the app on my iPad and its a little different. Do you know from that what I do?

Same thing... come to the website, make the changes so it "resets" your calories and the next time your device / website sync happens the changes should move to the app.

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/help/faq/63-can-i-customize-my-nutritional-goals-fat-carbs-etc

I know this link references nutritional goals specifically but it is the same link for all the mobile platforms.. Android, iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Windows Phone which indicates you do the changes on the website and they'll move to the app.
