TOPIC: Notify when someone replies or quotes us

On other forums I visit, you get a notification when somebody replies to you or quotes you in a thread. It means that if you've asked a question you don't have to keep checking every post in what might be a 7 pages long thread to see if you've been answered. Could you consider this?

Also, it would be really helpful if you could see who had been quoted in a post that features a quote - especially when a whole conversation has been quoted it's really hard to remember who said what.

Thanks!

Agreed!!
Not only in the community board but on our own "newsfeed"/main page.
If a friend comments on an 'update' of mine, unless it JUST happened, I will usually just reply to them on their own profile page to ensure they see it.
And then I have to keep going back to their profile page to see if they replied there, assuming they don't reply on my profile page.

Me too. I would also like for our names to be in the quote bar when someone quotes us. You know, like every other forum on the net. :P

I agree! I hate not knowing if someone commented, having to continue to check
September 15, 2012 05:45
YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!
On community posts AND newsfeed. It's so difficult to keep up by having to trawl though everything checking for replies and comments. Plus if someone writes on your profile, it doesn't show on your newsfeed. What's up with that?

AGREE! And someone should report this to a moderator so they actually read it and listen to what we need!

As per this sticky thread
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/387296-thank-you-for-your-great-suggestions
they're well aware of all their suggestions that get made, and draw on them for site / app improvements, they just don't get to respond to every thread that comes up.
QUOTE:

Dear Posters,

Thank you for the continuous supply of great ideas and suggestions for the site.

Mike and the rest of the staff at MyFitnessPal want you to know that we review this thread regularly, and are busily at work on a long to-do list of exciting new features.

In fact, many of the features that have been added to the site (and our apps) over the years have come directly from the posts in this forum. So thank you.

It may seem, when we do not respond directly to posts here, that we are not paying attention. Please understand that we are an extremely small team at MyFitnessPal, and we put the vast majority of our time and energy into actually building the features that you've requested. Unfortunately, if we took the time to respond to all of your great ideas, we'd halve our programming and engineering time. Never fear: we are listening!

I understand that many members would like to know what we're working on next. We tend not to be very public about upcoming new features until they're ready to roll out, as this gives us a competitive advantage against other sites that might be very interested in our future plans. So please know that we spend all day, every day, working on improvements to the site.

Please keep those suggestions coming. We rely on them!

Warm regards,
Steven
MyFitnessPal Staff
