Could you perhaps take a screenshot and link it here to better show what you mean?
September 10, 2012 8:53 PM
Is this on the computer? If so maybe you could try restarting your browser. Sometimes they act up.

I had the same problem this afternoon, but it fixed itself after about 3 hours. I kept getting a technical error message from MFP telling me that they were aware of the problem and working on it.

Hi everyone, it still not working on my computer so i rely on my MFP apps to log my food diary.

I have the screenshot but i don't know how to put it in here :(

Meanwhile, i've uploaded the screenshot in my profile pic, so you could see.

I am getting the same error. I can't add any new foods, it will add if i use the "recent" foods and check them off. But if i add anything new, i get to the same HTML screen in the OP's profile picture. When i try to add the food and click save, it doesn't do anything. I have to refresh and go back to the add food screen. And when i try to add food from the recent tab, or click any tab when adding food, it scrolls to the top of the page and bottom status bar says "Error on Page". Kind of frustarting when i dont' have a smart phone and the PC is my only source of using MFP. I am using IE8. This has been happening for two days now. And my PC has been shut down and restarted, as well as opened and closed IE sessions multiple times.

I have been having the same problem. Yesterday and now today, I have been unable to load any food into my food diary. I deleted all of the cookies on my computer as well as logging out and back in and still having problems. I can search for the food and see the list to choose from, but when I click the food to select it, I am taken to a page where I cant add anything or click on the nutritional value at all. The page immediately says done, and when I click the back button it says the page has expired and I have to completely reload or either refresh the page. I am so frustrated from trying to get this thing to work. I live in North Carolina, dont know if that has any bearing or not. I was also unable to comment on any posts at all. When I click comment it shoot me back to top of the page. Oh also I dont have any problems go to other pages on the internet, so I know its not my connection.

Hi,

When you see separate page like that during the add food process, it's an indication that JavaScript is not working correctly, either in your browser as a whole, or that the JavaScript code for our site is not being loaded properly.

A couple of things to check:

http://www.activatejavascript.org/ will show whether JavaScript is disabled, and will offer instructions relevant to your browser.

You can also try emptying your browser's cache? Instructions are here http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache

If you are using Internet Explorer 8 or later, please note that you should uncheck the "preserve data for favorite websites" option if you have MyFitnessPal favorited or bookmarked.

Sometimes when we push out updates to the site (which we've been doing a lot of in the past few days) the updates are not immediately loaded by all of the servers between us and you. This can especially be an issue if you're in a work environment behind a "proxy server." Some companies don't re-load new updates from websites except periodically, so clearing your cache won't help in these instances.

If none of the instructions above resolve the issue, please let us know:

Broswer you're using
Physical location (city/state/country)
Whether you're on a work computer

If JavaScript is working the issue should resolve as soon as your cache is emptied or any proxy server is updated, but unfortunately we can't force that from our end....

Can you visit http://www.myfitnesspal.com/diagnostics/ and let me know if all, some, or none of the tests pass?

If the tests pass to the point that the "submit results" button appears, please submit, and then post here to let us know you've done so.

Regards,
Steven

Hi Steven, i tried your fixes ,same issues. IE8, London, ON, Canada, and it is my work PC. I have had no issues previously. When i go to your link for the diagnostics, nothing happens, the screen is blank other than the banner adds and top menu. Unless there is some sort of delay while the diagnostics run, however, i would think there would be some sort of notification and not a blank screen.

thanks for looking into this.

Logout and then log back in, it will probably clear it then.

Do you see a "Run Tests" button when you first visit the diagnostics page?
September 13, 2012 6:56 AM
Again, the screen is blank. I get the ads along the side and top, and the menu bar "My home, food, etc" and that's it. I see the title on the page that says "Self diagnostics" and that is it. No button, nothing to click to run a test.

Do you see this text on the diagnostics page?

-----------

Self Diagnostics Tool

This page allows you to run a series of tests that can potentially help our Customer Service department pinpoint any issues you may be experiencing.

-----------

....but no "Run Test" button? Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Do you have a different internet connection you can try with, say by tethering to your mobile phone or another wifi network?

The only thing i see is "Self dianostics tool". That's it. Nothing underneath. I have done everything Steven suggested, checked my java, cleared the cache. I mainly use this at work, i can try at home and see if it's a different outcome on my home PC. But i would prefer to update real time as i am workign out and eating, and that is mainly doen while i am at work. And my work PC has not received any critical updates that would impact MFP working. I have no issues with any other sites.

If you copy and paste this URL into your browser, does anything load at all?

http://assets-cdn.myfitnesspal.com/assets/application-2b413436b0521541395a72d215dcbb7f.js

You should see a screen of text. Let me know if anything appears at all or not.

I pasted the URL and it prompted me to dowloand a text file, which is full of, what looks like code, assuming HTML, as i am A VBA guy and don't recognize the format. So bottom line, i did get text showing in the downloaded text file.

Steven & Mike:

Java just rolled out two recent new updates the past 10 days. We had to update all three computers at home, and all 85 computers at work where some of our programs rely on javascripting.

Also - another thing to consider is the individual's computer and when the last time they cleaned out the cookies/temp internet files, cache, etc...

I found once I cleaned that out, I had no issues logging back in as well.

Havent run into any problems with these taken into consideration above.
(currently running IE8/Windows XP Media edition on my terminal)

Still having issues at work. Can't login at main screen, cannot add new foods still, cannot add smileys, can't basically do anything outside of add foods that were previously used. Even can't add water without it opening up to a page to add up or down water intake. The site is basically broken from my work PC and this is where i do all my logging as my home PC is taken up by kids all night long. If i can't do it from work, then i see no point in continuing with this site. I will have to find a tracking that works from my work PC.
