Hi all, I am trying to stick by the Low GI diet because my mum and dad are both diabetic (dad is type 2), I do not want that to effect me. I was just interested to know what diet plan you are on? If anyone would like to become friends please feel free to add me. Thanks

The eating less than I burn plan

I just say I'm on a calorie deficit. I like low carb too but I don't always do it.

I like the low carb diet. Carbs make me hungry! But it is nice to have them sometimes. This site helps so that I don't eat too much. It also figures carbs, proteins, fats... Hope this helps!

I'm not really on any specific diet. I just cut the crisps and sweets (except for saturday), and started eating smaller portions. I just eat less calories than I burn, and make relatively healthy choices. That's in, and it's working great :D

I am not on a diet plan. I burn more than I eat. Diet plans or "diets" fail in the long run.

Agreed! I watch what I eat pretty carefully though, it's taken about a year and a half but I've finally come up with a way of eating that keeps me satisfied but on track. It's just a matter of trial and error; do lots of research and try new things and you'll quickly learn what does and doesn't work!

Mine is similar to others, but I call it the "eat whatever I want as long as I burn more calories than I ate" plan.

I follow more or less the Mediterranean diet. Should be 55%carbs ,avoiding sugar anyway, 30% fats mostly unsaturated and 15% proteins. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and they suggested me to follow this plan. And to eat one apple after each meal... And this is a thing that I still miss. I don't like very much apples...

None.

I eat what I feel like, when I feel like it.. and as long as it's less then my calories for the day, I'm good!

I'm using the Younger Next Year Journal as a fitness guide and cutting the crap out of my diet, following my daily calorie allowance and trying to eat more whole foods. I bet you're on the right track with the low GI diet. It emphasizes whole foods and I think that it is the way to go. See my blog if you're interested. I also have joined the Strong is the New Skinny (SINS) group on Facebook. I don't want to be a skinny person with a bad body composition - too much fat, too little muscle. I aspire to be trim and shapely, and that's a plan for a healthy fit woman who can carry her own groceries!

If you love Pop Tarts, you've got to try the Amy's version of the Pop Tart. They are not a low calorie food, but they are so good and full of complex carbs.

Thanks for all your replies, I suppose I should call this a lifestyle change. I hope each and everyone of you has a great weight loss journey!

I'm not really on any diet, per se. Just trying to eat less and burn more. Also trying to make it a point to eat more fruits and veggies and less sweets. Good luck! :)

Since January between P90x and Turbofire I have lost 19 inches!!!
Would would like to do the same?

This is my story

Hello my name is Angel and I am 39 year old former couch potato
I have struggled with my weight and have tried every fad diet there was and hated working out, I wanted that quick fix. A year ago heavier and out of shape I decided to try P90X however I never changed my diet and 66 days into I gave up I didnt see the results I wanted after that I continued to put on more weight after seeing some pictures of myself I said enough is enough and like everyone else on the planet in January I decided to lose weight and exercise after losing 20lbs through healthy eating I did some walking and other DVDS at home but it just wasn't cutting it. I would see the commercials and I thought I need to try that P90X again and finish it this time! After week one I thought what was I thinking I could barely do the push ups on my knees I hurt everywhere and never thought I would get better or even finish I would see myself in the mirror working out many times I cried. I kept pushing play!!! I got stronger I was bringing it! Push ups well I can bust out 100 right now if you would like :) If I can do this anyone can! I then passed the fit test for Insanity and have been doing that and I hate it and love it all at the same time. I love having muscles I love being strong I love being healthy. I graduated from P90X in August 2012 and I am so proud! and I want to help others so I became coach and began my 2nd workout Turbofire, I was scared at first because I have no coordination but I fell in love with the program and the music and I will see this through to the end 20 weeks :) I finish it before my 40th Birthday in December and I cant wait to start another program, my goal is to do all of them
