My fitbit was working fine, then last week I started having trouble getting it to sync. It was syncing randomly but not it wont sync at all. It charges but won't sync. I wrote fitbit and they sent me instructions. The instructions didn't work and tried multiple times. I even tried on a different laptop and it does the same thing. I wrote them and told them and they sent me the same instructions again. Im on my 3rd email and I'm starting to get really upset. I have become so reliant on the fitbit. It has became a way of life for me and a habit. If I don't have my fitbit on I lose it. LOL Im still wearing it but nothing is being added to my fitbit or to myfitnesspal to add calories back. Has anyone has this happen to them and if so, how was the problem corrected?

So, when you say it is not synching... The steps on your device are not syncing to your fitbit account? Is that what is happening? I ask because you mention you are not seeing an adjustment. If the information is not being uploaded from your fitbit to the fitbit website then you would probably not see an adjustment. So your fitbit dashboard says zero for steps taken?

If by not synching you mean you are not getting a fitbit adjustment but the steps/activity are uploading to your fitbit account... Not everyone has a fitbit adjustment and the fitbit adjustment doesn't actually have much to do with fitbit. MFP calculates it when it syncs to your fitbit, but only if you have burned more calories than mfp expects you to (according to your activity level and also excluding any exercise you log on mfp).

There is something a bit weird about what you describe since you said it is charging but not syncing. Sometimes a bad base station doesn't charge and from what I've heard the fitbit customer service replaces it. Same with a faulty fitbit and even some cases where a fitbit is ruined from user error. If it is not syncing your steps to your *fitbit dashboard*, I wonder if the fitbit customer service understands what you are describing. since you mention it not syncing to mfp (totally different issue, but of course that would also happen if your fitbit device isn't syncing to your fitbit account at all) they might think you are askign about a different issue.

Good luck figuring it out!

mine's doing the same thing. i know the base station is working b/c it's charging my device, but it hasn't synced with the dashboard since 2 days ago. i'm gonna wait until tomorrow to call customer service.

Right! My fitbit is charging but will not sync my info to the fitbit dashboard. They e-mailed me steps to try and correct the problem but its not working and I've tried everything. I've reset the charger, I've uninstalled and re-installed the software 5 times, I've tried to use another laptop, I've used CC Cleaner to clear out cache/temp files/and registry, I've did pretty much everything and nothing works. Its so weird because I know its charging my fitbit but it just won't sync. My computer keeps giving me a error when I unplug it and plug it back in that says there is a malfunction with the usb device. I have no idea what else I can do.

Ok, so I just plugged it back up on a whim that it might work and it finally synced. But I will not hold my breath because this has happened 3 times and then it starts doing it again. I just pray that it continues to work because I hate when my info doesn't sync because I rely heavily on the fitbit to help me with calories in vs. calories out.

Sometime I have this problem (well, I don't know if it charges but not syncing), but for me it only happens when it has been a few days since I shut down my laptop. After I unplug the base, then restart my computer it works fine.

I hope it continues to work for you!

Just as I had figured it has stopped syncing again. Unplugged it, restarted my computer, and plugged it back in and nothing. My fitbit symbol is grey and red again and will not load my info to the site. UUUUGgGGHHHHH! I am so frustrated that I'm about to go nuts! I really hope that fitbit finally does something to actually help me this time.

I know your frustration all too well! I went back and forth at least 5 emails about my dock cause it wouldn't sync-it did once but then never again no matter what I did. I was getting so frustrated and finally they said they'd send me a replacement dock in 10-12 days

Yes, they just notified me today that they think its a bad dock and I will receive a new one in the mail. I am very happy about that. Did the new dock fix your problem?

I am having a similar issue only my Dashboard is showing only the calories burned and my activity score. Steps, Floors and Miles are all at 0 which i know is wrong because FitBit shows the totals. I have tried manually syncing, restarting computer, resetting the base and eventually it will sync but only after a few attempts.

Can anyone tell me - do you have to actually put your fitbit ON the base for it to sync properly? It seems like this only works about 50% of the time.

I am getting frustrated because I REALLY want this thing to work. Any tips beyond what has already been provided would be appreciated. tongue

Thanks!!

You can put it on the dock (which they call forcing it to sync) but it should sync everything together wirelessly or forced

Yesterday the fitbit site had some issues. Has it updated? It does sound like it isn't synching to your fitbit device, the activity score and calorei burn you see are probably either your bmr, or your bmr + some activity if you have calorie estimation turned on in your fitbit settings, and also any exercise you may have manually logged. If there are not steps/distance it isn't synching at all (assuming you took some which would be hard not to do).

Re: syncing as mentioned it should do it wirelessly under the right circumstances... Your fitbit sends a signal to the base station every 15 minutes, if you are close enough (I think about 15-20 feet), your computer with the installed software is on and not sleeping, and the base station is plugged into a working usb port it should sync. Assuming the site is up and you have live internet access. I think it syncs a bit faster if you put it on the dock but I don't know if that is actually true, it might still be every 15 minutes, sometimes I have to wait to see an update.

But if it isn't generally working as described (aside from days when many users are also having trouble)... It might be that you have a faulty base station. It seems to happen sometimes. Try emailing their customer service if you haven't.

My Fitbit is syncing with the Fitbit site but the actual steps aren't coming over to Myfitnesspal.

I'm having same problem--Fitbit device is syncing properly with Fitbit.com but I don't see the sync/rollover to MFP.com. I look at Fitbit site and see steps, etc... but when I look at MFP, there's no exercise logged from the sync/device. How many times per day does MFP pull over/sync data from FItbit/Fitbit.com?? Maybe that's the piece I'm missing--is it every 15 minutes/every time Fitbit.com gets updated data from device? or does MFP only do it once or twice a day??

I found all my answers under the "Help" tab, under Web in the drop down menu, then clicking on Fitbit Integration. Great, useful info!!
