TOPIC: I can't sync...

Day 2 of fitbit, used it 1 1/2 days no drama.
I have been trying to sync off and on for 8 hours now, and nothing.
I have tried:
2 different computers
shutting down and restarting computers
uninstalling and reinstalling the software
plugging and unplugging the sync station
refreshing and restarting internet


I have followed every bit of advice I can find on here and mb threads...
What now?

I wsih there was a way to tell if data transfer was happening, at the moment I don't know if it is a problem with the hardware or software or if the site is down or anything - just left in the dark with the fitbit recording steps but no idea why I can't get it to sync with the dashboard.

Oh and the time is 12 hours out (am instead of pm) even though it is set right on the settings on the dashboard.

Help! To have this on Day 2 isn't great...

A few things that may help
Make sure that you have the right timezone in both MFP AND Fitbit - I found that MFP isn't taking into account Daylight savings so I have had to pretend I am in Central Europe (tsk!) :-)
I thought I had it right in FB, but it attached me to something ridinkidonk like Mountain Prairie Lion Dinner Time so doublecheck.

Then I read this in a review, and it works. I noticed my unit was not charging so either press it onto the contacts in the base station so that the battery sign comes up on the unit, and it should link... and the dahsboard will eventually tell you when it has synched.
OR (and this does work), find an elastic band and wrap that around the FB AND the base unit to force it to be touching the base station contacts - this works for me in terms of charging it. and synching.

If none of those work, take a deep breath and post on the FB Community, and ask if Jerrod (the staff member who monitors the forum) to suggest if he thinks it is a faulty unit or if he can come up with something.. he seems to be fantastically helpful.

I had exactly the same issues on my first couple of days - so hopefully it will be OK

(I assume that you have registered the FB with fitbit.com as per the setup after uninstalling and reinstalling? That annoyed me with mine as it wouldn't detect it until I had reset the base unit with the FB inside and then when I thought about upgrading the firmware, it couldn't find it again, and I couldn't be bothered to try it all again as I managed to get it working).

I tried to reregister as per your post at the bottom (the battery light is coming on when on the base station) and then got this message:

"Your tracker has not responded to requests.
Please make sure the tracker is on the base station
Then press and release the Fitbit Tracker button once more
and click Next.
Still need help? Please visit our FAQ section
If this problem persists, please Contact Support "

So I am following the faq with restting it with the button on the bottom, uninstalling, then reinstalling... if this doesn't work I will wander over to find Jerrod.

Hmmm whatever I do I have no 4 digit code to input... and email has been sent to the fitbit helpdesk. I hope the fix is an easy one and it doesn't happen again, the syncing is the best part of fitbit!

no, it is a no go.
The battery is working, but no data is transferring. Man I have wasted a lot of time on this!

How exactly do I uninstall and start over? Over a week and still says 0 steps. I'm so aggravated! Please help. Sent email to fitbit but probably won't get response til Monday. I've been reading everything and can't figure out what to do or how to uninstall. I went to uninstall on my computer but don't see fitbit. When I go to fitbit.com it says I'm logged in and shows calories burn but no steps. I reset base? Please help!
