I think I know the answer, but I am so tired today it is not making sense to me at all and I need some help from someone to clarify things. I have been at a plateau for 2 months so I am really trying to get my nutrition/fitness and calories are all tracked correctly.

I am currently on a 1200 calorie per day program.
I exercised today and according to my heart rate monitor I burned 1236 calories and I have recorded it in the exercise log.

When I pull up main page under the daily summary it says:
Net Calorie goal 1200
+ calories burned 1236
- calories consummed 1119
Remaining Calories 1317

However when I go to my food diary it says

Daily goal 3672
consummed 1119
remaining 2553

I cannot figure out where the daily goal number of 3672 came from. When I remove everything from both the food and the exercise journals it tells me in the food journal that I have 1200 calories which it should. But as soon as I add in the exercise and the calories burned in the activity - 1236, the food journal tells me I have a daily goal of 3672 and this is before I even attempted to re-enter the foods I ate today.

Do I have 1317 or 2553 calories remaining today? I should know the answer but for whatever reason today it is not coming to me and I need to figure it out. Can someone explain it to me please.?

HELP Please.

Thanks - Lori

There is a glitch with the system today. It seems to be doubling everyone's exercise calories. You could either do the math yourself or go in and halve your exercise.

Thank you; I was just wondering the same thing: baseline 1,200 calories, earned 697, yet my daily goal is at 2,500 plus. noway

How odd; usually the one thing computers are really good at is math - hope it will get fixed soon!

I did two back to back water aerobic classes (50 minutes each) and 15 minutes of swimming laps. I have been wearing my HRM into the pool to see what the actual calorie burn was. The first time I saw that number I was shocked to say the least. But it seems pretty consistant depending on which two water aerobic classes I do (deep water, shallow water or lazy river). I do the 2 sessions + laps twice a week, I have been at a plateau for two months and am trying to figure out why I can't break through it - that was the reason I started to wear the HRM rather than depend on the online data bases to tell me the calorie burn.

Cheers

The same thing happened to me . There has to be a glitch in the system. Stick to what you know is correct.

If you are on a 1200 calorie plan and you burn lets say 800, then you need to make it up, thats why it say your calories are doubled. They way it is suppose to be is even though you work out an burn calories u still must obtain that 1200 calories, and the goal and weekly thing is just a base line of in a weeks time what you should be burning so you know if you are doing to much or to little. keeping yourself from get malnurtian is the key for those numbers. hopes this helps you out.

No.
I mean, you're correct about eating your exercise calories, but there was a glitch in the system yesterday DOUBLING your exercise calories, so it was telling you to eat calories you hadn't burned which isn't a great idea when it comes to weight loss. But, the glitch has been repaired.
