I recently joined my wife with her diet using myfitnesspal. As we learn and add new healthy recipes, we have found we cannot share the recipe with eachother, and instead one of us typically has to enter the raw calorie count. This is a request to add a feature to share recipes and meals with those on your friend list so that they can quickly add detailed and accurate information without having to either re-enter the recipe, or bypass it using raw calorie count.

Another nice feature to add would be the ability to share, or split servings between a friend. The use case in this instance is when eating at a restaurant, you may share in close equal parts a particular item such as a desert. It could be a status update as well, to encourage people to enjoy things they love -- but doing so in a smart and sharing way.

I hope to see these features soon in the android and iphone apps!

They already exist "in a form" on the Android and iPad / iPhone apps

Enter a serving of the recipe in your food diary... go view the diary from the other account using one of those 3 apps. Click the wrench / spanner near the calorie count for that meal. You'll see the option to copy a serving of that recipe to your own account. So in the case of the dessert if the first logs a half serving and you copy the 1/2 serving to the second account there's your full dessert shared between the 2 accounts.

That's the "in a form" it doesn't actually copy the recipe itself to the second or more accounts, juts the nutritional info of a serving that is logged in your diary as a meal.

For the rest of us it may be easier to enter the recipe once, create a new food based on a serving of that recipe and then your friends can log that new "food item" in their own diary to get the complete nutritional info from your recipe. If you change the recipe their item wouldn't be up to date anymore.

Thank you so much Pandorian. You just saved my husband and I a ton of time by being able to share recipes!

This is a much needed feature to me... it's so much work to have to enter in each meal and recipe 3 times! (once for my mom, once for me, and once for my stepdad.)

I would love to be able to go to a friend's diary and have an "I ate this meal too" button. I often split a meal with my fiancee, or we cook at home, and one of us will go through the effort of finding all of the ingredients, and it would be nice if the other could just copy it.

I would love something like this too. We (my wife and I) don't use the mobile apps just the website so this would be great.

Being able to share a recipe or food item with my friends is important to me also.
