Hi there-
Love the site!!!

I recently had a hydrostatic body composition test done and found out my body fat & lean %...and got an accurate Resting Metabolic Rate. It's a LOT higer than what MFP is currently allowing/showing based on my height & weight so it throws me off when attempting to adjust for calories during the day etc as I need to remember that I should be adding 500+min to the bottom line in order not to go into starvation mode.

What do you think about allowing adjustments? (ie: www.fitday.com) Or maybe it IS allowed and I just haven't found the secret button yet :D

Thank you!

It is allowed!!! When you are in the "my home page" click on "goals", then click on "change goals" and then "custom".... tada... you can customize everything!

I would recommend adjusting your activity level - if you pick a higher daily activity level it will increase your Estimated Normal daily activity calories. It may not exactly match what you want it to, but hopefully it will be closer. If you've already got your activity level at the highest, then I don't know that you have any other options... ?

That will allow you to adjust your net calories consumed goal, but not the calories from normal daily activities that MFP calculates... not sure which you're really trying to adjust for here. Hopefully you can get it to work!

I do what Accountant_boi does....

MFP underestimates my RMR too, because it assumes I'm an elderly couch potato, I guess. Anyway, I just adjust the activity level until my base calories is as high as it needs to be to maintain my weight if I don't exercise (i.e., my basic maintenance level) and then add in the exercise calories on top so I can see how much more I need to eat to not lose.
