Thanks... wish you would have posted that to begin with.
Kinda always appreciated you and what you said... but making me feel like an idiot took that away...
I'll be sure to review the "material" . :)

I didn't knew my words were so strong as to make anyone feel like an idiot

Anyways, in the first reply, I thought I saw you posting the same topic before, which you said wasn't the case so I had to dig up a post since it had mods replies. I didn't accused you saying that I remember specifically that YOU made those topics though I had my doubt. Hence the reason I said "regardless"

Anyways, hop you got the answer you seek on the topic. Happy MFP'ing

Words make people feel like idiots everyday..

You said earlier that you should be able to call someone a dumbass without getting the thread locked. But as soon as someone comments on your topic, you say that they're all hurting your feelings by not totally agreeing with you. Maybe you should rethink this idea.

Oh, can we add a forum for people with self worth who don't need to show everyone their ta-tas for attention?

I'd love that.

Edit: I agree with censorship issues on words. Come on.

Okay really. I mean really.. Did I seriously just see someone complaining about what a person chooses to do with their own body? Sorry but my breasts are attached. I'm not going to wear a turtleneck just because I happen to have large ones. If my picture shows some cleavage and that offends you, gtfo. I don't show them for attention, I wear what I like because it's comfortable and makes me feel good about myself. I have plenty of self worth. So much so that I'm not ashamed to be comfortable in my skin. If a man can walk around without a shirt on showing his nips, then wtf is wrong with a girl wearing a tank top, bikini, or whatever else floats their boat? Nothing.

Out of your heart your mouth speaks. You sound like someone of low character. How sad for you that you don't know how to express yourself any better than a high school boy.

My 1st response was to say something really nasty... But I decided I shouldn't ... since I didn't know you and all.. BUT I still think you're a *****... for pretending you know me and all :)

Holy crap, I completely missed that this could have been taken as a dig at the OP. If it was intended as such, shame on you.

This whole thread has taken a seriously unpleasant turn, though. I disagree with the OP about the relative merits of a "grown-up" sub-forum, I don't see how anything she posted warrants the nastiness I have seen hurled at her. I am more disappointed in this than anything else I have seen here. A sincere suggestion was put forward, and while there may be good reasons to not implement it, there was no need to the derisive responses and personal attacks.

Congratulations, folks. You have me white knighting somebody I've never met on an internet forum.

(p.s. The unmitigated gall of suggesting that using profanity indicates that a person is unintelligent or uneducated is mind-boggling. Perhaps a simple survey of either classical or modern literature would be helpful in correcting this narrow and inaccurate worldview.)

There is a huge difference between "not agreeing" with me... and butchering me for asking a simple question. I don't see where I need to rethink anything.

Before anyone gets into trouble... I found this:

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/guidelines

QUOTE:
25. Groups That Allow Mature Content Must Be Marked Mature
If your group decides that it will allow mature content, it must be flagged as a mature group. Failure to do so could result in the deletion of the group. Please note that even groups marked as mature must still adhere to our site-wide guidelines.

These guidelines are subject to change.

So in essence you can have a group that is indicated as Mature content, but you still have to run the group under MFP guidelines..

Sounds contradictory in my mind, but... if you start a group.. you might want to run it by the powers-that-be before you risk getting into trouble...

Omg... as previously stated, I'm not looking for a porn/hookup site. IF I wanted that ...there is a vast internet I could find that on. I'm a HAPPILY MARRIED mother of 4 that just wanted to say **** without being locked. Simple question! Already answered my another poster. Some of you people are off your rockers!

Think about it this way: most work environments have their IT department filter out any websites with questionable content. It can be filtered by any several different things. Whether type of website, type of content, requires-age-verification-on mature-sites type, anything really. With the harsh language that you would want to use, it might not be work-environment friendly with the IT filters involved thus banning MFP from being able to load nor access.

This is just my opinion, its not a fact but.. my guess is that in keeping it 'work-related-friendly', this allows more exposure to people who still keep track even while at work. MFP has a rule about the types of profile pics and photos that are acceptable. Makes perfect sense.

By having these rules in place, MFP becomes more access-friendly to more and more people.

My supervisor and team leader both know I use MFP under doctor's orders (thankfully working in healthcare, they completely understand), and have given me free access to log in when I need to. They already know its a work-friendly website because their IT dept does not need to filter out anything here of questionable content, adult-themed photos, etc.... we have patients that our doctors recommend using MFP too.... so it has worked out really nice for them and myself.

Personally, I dont care about profanity in the use of a message-board format... but, I do understand why MFP needs to keep it clean... I 'get' it....

So Ill go hog-wild with being verbally honest on my personal MFP profile's board.. .they dont monitor that.. but they do need to keep tabs on the message boards with good reason.

lol I love how a girl with self respect is automatically profiled as a 'feminist'. How about just someone who is respectful of personal choice and promotes positive body image.
Always with the bigotry.

Just saying... adults dont have to curse. Adults CAN be eloquently spoken...

I love how people act like "feminist" is a bad thing. You bet your tush I'm a feminist! Feminism is a philosophical and political viewpoint that opposes the hierarchical social structure wherein people are assigned value based on the intersections of their race, gender, sex, sexuality, religion, handicapped-status, etc., rather than their actions and achievements. I hope the feminists are coming; this blighted mudball needs more of them.
