Great pep-talk Momma2four ... and good challenge ideas. I'm in agreement with all of it.

Last week I did 260 minutes, so I'm adding 5 for this week to 265 minutes, and I'll keep doing the pushup challenge.

I kind of did my daily check-in earlier ... but here are the questions for yesterda:
Did I stay within a healthy calorie range today? no
Did I exercise today? no
Did I drink my minimum of 64 ounces of water today? yes
Share something that you are proud of about yourself ? didn't eat out for lunch




Thanksgiving goal is 230 (25 pounds)
New Years goal is 225 (30 pounds)
Birthday goal for 3/1/10 is 215 (40 pounds)

Hey everyone,

I am glad that most of you seem to be onboard.

snowflakes, I like your idea of extending the wall pushups for another week. I think it is also a good idea to have the challenges begin on Sat. morning-friday. So we really have to be aware of who our biggest loser is and post that challenge before bed on friday. A good way to check to see who is the biggest loser is by using the mens calculator. Although, that other calculator is much easier it rounds off your weight loss. If your percentage is 1.6% the other calculator will say your weight loss is 2%. Get it, it rounds off the percetage. The mens calculator gives you exact weight loss percentage. I used the easier calculator last week and it said my percentage of weight loss was 0% but the mens calculator said my .4 pounds was .11% . It gave me something. Any way here is our link again for that .

We are just waiting for a few more girls to post their opinion but it appears that a majority of us like the idea. So I think the minutes added and the daily check in should just be an on-going challenge that stays the same and the biggest loser challenge changes every sat. okay?

Awesome ideas momma. I am all for check in daily and keeping track of exercise mins weekly.

I will check in in the morning....I did check and I did 100 min of exercise last week....So 105 this week....I am already up to like 70 minutes already and it is only Tuesday :)


I agree i like the men calculator better too...like last week the other on said i was 1% when actually i was like 1.4

Did I drink my minimum of 64 ounces of water today? yes 96oz and counting
Share something that you are proud of about yourself ? Super happy about exercising 45 minutes extra than planned this evening. That was an extra 500+ calories burned. smile

Also, I exercised 456 minutes last week (I wasn't lying when I said I ramped up my exercise routine). I'm going to try to hit at least an even 460 minutes this week.

Share something that you are proud of about yourself ? I am proud that even though I am having some personal upsets, I am still chugging a long. I am proud that I took a walk when I did not feel like it.


I love doing this because it makes me want to try harder........... Maybe we should actually put how many calories we ate. I don't know if that would make some of us uncomfortable and I understand that. But just now putting 1800 calories eaten in public made me want to eat less. What do you guys think.? I do not want to put pressure on anyone because I want everyone to feel comfortable about posting. But I think as a personal tool to help myself I may just put my cal intake for the world to see.

water? no :( I got 32 oz ( it is more than I have been so I am proud of that.

Here's my check in: Even though I have been staying within my calories since the start of the week, I have not been eating as healthy as I would like. I had a death in my family and I've kind of lost my appetite. I also have not been working out other than spending my days cleaning the house. I try to eat something. It may not be the best choice but I try. Already the scale is reflecting that I have lost 3 pounds and the week isn't over. I've updated my ticker but I'm a little skeptical because I know this kinda of weight-loss usually doesn't last. We'll see.

Did I exercise today? yes - burned 1500

Share something that you are proud of about yourself ? hard workout at the Y for 90 minutes, and made good food choices for dinner after I got home (which is usually a very bad time for me and food)

andrea: we all fall off the wagon from time to time, I've been off the wagon every-other-day recently ... just get back on track and you will do fine. You can do it!

mscocoa30: I'm sorry for your loss, I just went through that recently too and it has done a number on my motivation - at first I lost weight because I wasn't eating, then I gained it back from 'comfort eating' and now I'm having to work really hard to get back on track. Just take care of yourself for now.

Well as far as the challenges go I did horribla on food already today but I promise to log and make better choices tomorrow.I need to really stop associating food with comfort.I am going to challenge myself to exercise my stress away.I am off to exercise right now.Thanks Momma for the pep talk I really needed it.Love you guys!!!! mrscocoa - I am sorry about the loss in your family.

Yes it is the biggest looser game. I have some cons and pros with it, just my opninoin :)

Pros -
* The works out are pretty good, there are lots of them that you can choose or you can do the fitness plan that they pick for you.
* The workouts are pretty continous vs like the wii fitt, you have to pick each one, i like it just going from 1 to antoher.
* I like the challenges too they are fun, and sometimes very tiring.

Cons -
* They calc your calories and it is way off...it told me i need to eat 2500 to loose weight, I know I am big but come on.
* The "weigh in" isn't really you, it is a charcter and like the 1st week i didn't loose any (per the wii board) and it showed the girl loosing 3lbs...Now it will weight your right weight and record it in your progress.
* The other thing is the cals don't calculate right. I did a 20 min workout and told me i burned like 40 calories....

The other thing I have a hard time with is that some of the exercies hurt my knee, i just do the best i can.

Hey Girls,

Made a bad choice for lunch today. So unless I want to skip dinner I will be back up to 1800 calories today. I guess that is still weight loss mode but barely so I am going to have to try harder. I will post tomorrow How I ended up. I love being accountable for my calories. I am doing okay with water not bad I have about 48 ounces in me. My goal is actually 80. My 16 year has "swine flu" So I am trying to keep an eye on her and make sure she stays hydrated and that her fever does not spike. I am trying to keep my 4 year old away from her because he is consider high risk. Yikes, that scares me. Bleaching up everything in the house so I am probably killing everyone trying to keep them from getting sick.sick I teach 1rst and 2nd graders on Wed. nights at my church and I just cancelled that. Let me see what else can I complain aboutgrumble grumble Well I guess that is it, I am done complaining thanks for listening. See you all later.....

Complain away Momma I have complained half the week but I had alot better day today .I exercised for 40 minutes but I ate poorly today.I am going to do better today.Just some advice about the swine flu,if you can I would isolate him or her to one room and one bathroom if that is possible so that your 4 year old doesn't get it.I am sure you already know that though.My daughter had it and as soon as they gave her the meds for it she started feeling much better within hours.I will pray that your son or daughter makes a full recovery which I am sure they will.Hope things get better!!!!

H1N1 is a concern to all of us. Unbelievable how contagious it is. Sorry it had to land in your home. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy week.

So one of you put how many ounces of water you drank yesterday,(don't remember who right off) but I had no idea the exact amount I drank. So I measured out my first 64 oz. and then will refill and see exactly where I'm at. I like not even thinking about or guesstimating about the amount. I think that I do it again tomorrow.

momma I hope your daughter gets better quickly, we all just got our H1N1 vaccination today. I just hope it works for us before it hits here.

Not the best day, but I am still happy with it
today -
calories - over by 105 (1908 total)
water - ok 60 oz
exercise - 32 mins - 203 calories
proud of today? - I had a busy day of running errands, and before we left I filled up my water bottle and packed healthy snacks. Usually we run around all day and are starving at the end, and end up at a fast food joint.

Share something that you are proud of about yourself ? I'm proud that I was so hungry at my part time job (delivering pizzas) but I kept telling myself how much it would ruin my dinner plans if I ate a slice of pizza so I didn't eat any. Barely. laugh Super glad I didn't now because I have plenty of calories for a special sweet treat instead (the 1264 includes my treat). love

I'm proud of myself because today was very very stressful work day ( i work from home so free roam of the pantyr and fridge) I wanted a snack, where is usually turn to when I am stressed, but I didn't....i just got up from my desk walked around the house for a few minutes and came back.

proud of: Didn't have an after school snack with my son, especially since it was not healthy.
