I was too hot!
But... got in a super 9.5 mile run! Would have been 10, but my running buddy's knee was hurting so we walked the last .5 miles. I am feeling awesome and so ready to train for the marathon May 1st!!!

Hello runners!!! Unseasonably warm day here in IL, almost 70 this afternoon! I started out in capris and long sleeves this morning at 50*... a lot warmer than my 29* run on Thurs!!

Hey all!
My ride ended up being 50 miles, but ooof daah it was tough!! It was all big tires and rough gravel so it was slow going for 3+ hours. The views were amazing and am upset I did not take my camera. I am working on how to post graphics, so I will try to attach the elevation profile of my ride today (Killer Hills). Some of the climbs were 15% grade, hello!... that’s the steepest grade I’ve been on!
I wish, oh so wish I had pics from today. It’s so beautiful riding in this very rural part of Iowa, amazing views and awesome friends. Kat… glad I make you laugh. I try to make myself laugh too. Hope the LR was great. On that note, hope everyone’s long runs were great! Nicole, I’ll make sure to be praying for you and your son. Seems like He is already there with you, and why you knew he needed to go to the doc. I like to run

Hi gang.
Resting today (I think) after yesterday's 13-mile long run. It wasn't pretty by the end, but at least I can say it is done. Nichole - my thoughts are with you and your son. Always trust those mommy instincts. They are seldom wrong! Rainman - how does one's butt feel after 3+ hours on a bike?? Ouch! Those hills look crazy. Way to go!
Thanks Kelynn- how did you do on your 10-miler? Heather

QUOTE: Thanks Kelynn- how did you do on your 10-miler? I didn't do a ten miler... come to think of it, I don't think I've put 10 miles on my car this weekend, never mind my running shoes.
I set out for a quick, easy 30 minute run today- my short run, but just wasn't feeling it. Probably has something to do with the lousy dinner I had last night At least it's in the 60's here in CT and nice and sunny... I'm off to enjoy the day!
Hope everyone else is getting in some good runs today

Happy Sunday!
I got in 6 miles Saturday -- off for 11 today. We are running a hilly trail -- wish me luck! Thankfully it is sunny and 70 today -- couldn't ask for a prettier day! Happy running -- hope you all have a fabulous day! Julie

Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts. I am in a much better place today than I was Friday for sure. We see the neurosurgeon on Tuesday, the sooner the better if you ask me
3 miles this morning and I will more than likely go for another quickie this afternoon. What a way to relieve stress!

An awesome 13.1 miles this morning. It was one of those perfect runs when I felt I could run forever...beautiful weather...great friends, just amazing! I shaved a full minute off my 12.1 mile time from 2 weeks ago...so 1 extra mile in 1 less minute!!! I had a lot left at 12.1 and I knew I couldn't talk my friends into going for 14 so I did negative splits for the last mile, picking up my pace every quarter mile until the last quarter when I did a full on sprint. Definitely one of my top 3 runs to date!
I hit not one, but 2 endorphin highs and never found the wall!! And that is why I am addicted to running...there is no better feeling in the world than a terrific run! I hope everyone else is having a wonderful day!!!

Hi everyone. I just graduated last week from the C25k program. I'm a former runner - been off for almost 5 years. I developed plantar fasciitis training for a race and then things sort of snow balled from there. Anyway, back to running for 12 weeks now and was hoping to join the running club. Room for one more?

Hello everyone!
Got in 9 miles today. Weather is so beautiful in Nashville right now, 70* and sunny! I was actually a bit too hot on my run! I won't complain though since it was a welcome change from the early morning cold runs I've been struggling through! I got a bit dehydrated around mile 5 and I could tell it affected the rest of my run, but I really don't want to have to bring a water bottle. Maybe just make sure to stay hydrated before and after? Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I didnt get in a "run" today as I hoped. I took my mom with me and the kids to the park. I really thought I could get at least 3 miles in but my 4 yr old was in a mood so he ended up running me with and fooling around. I am at the stage where I thought "At least I got my shoes on and did something" LOL
This week I hope to run 3 times and get back into the swing of things! Wish me luck! |

FedEx came thru for me and delivered my new shoes on Friday afternoon, so Saturday i took them out for a 10K test drive. Actually felt a little bounce, which was nice considering i had put over 700 miles on my last pair without realizing it.
I know -- you'd think i could do a better job keeping track. So let that be a lesson to everyone, and please learn from my mistake. (btw -- trying out the nike shox, so if anyone has looked at those and thought "i wonder if that's just the worst gimmick shoe ever?!?" i should be able to give u an honest opinion after a few runs here)

Good morning
Forgot to post this earlier... 5 miles at an easy pace for me today. A little muscle soreness today. I skipped my long run yesterday. Instead I did yardwork for about 5 hours. Normally, I would have gone for my long run and did yardwork for 5 hours. I am feeling a little lazy these days.
Enjoy the day -Kechie. Life isn’t waiting for the storm to pass….

Enjoy the day -Kechie. Kechie -- after your superstar showing in the 1/2, you deserve to feel a little lazy for a while. Don't even worry about it. I'm impressed with the 5 hours. if it takes me longer than ONE hour to mow the lawn, i'm bored. |
